But why do you want to install the latest rom with android 13 if the rom 19.1 with android 12 is going great? Do you know how many years it will take for version 12 to be obsolete? The mi pad 10 will be out by then! You have to delete everything to install 13, it's not worth it! at least for a few years.

That is why I haven't done it so far but the main reason would be that 19.1 won't be supported whereas 20 will. I'm not bothered about reinstalling stuff as I have nothing on it that is important and I like messing around so it will probably just be a case of searching for various modded APKs. I retired from work yesterday so I have plenty of time on my hands

Out of interest, Xiaomi have released the Redmi Pad in the UK and I have bought one for my wife. It's a 10.61 inch device as she prefers the larger format and it looks like amazing value. Current price on the Xiaomi store is £269 for the 4gb / 128gb model but I got an unopened one off eBay for £170 as a flurry of them came up after an offer of a free one if you bought a Redmi Note 12 Pro phone.

But what does it matter how long it will support you? It's android 12!! The applications will be compatible with this version for many years, too many, the main and most obvious reason is that it is the PEN-LAST version that has come out so far! I don't understand people who need the latest as soon as it comes out, I don't understand that anxiety!

...and I don't understand what you're even trying to tell us! Do you know what kind of forum you're in here?
You can also stay with A10, for example. It also works great with all sorts of apps.

I'm trying to say that software development, in this case, is loaded with anxiety, it would be healthier and more useful if it were done on demand and not as if it were a race against time.

First of all, thank you @kyasu for your work and keeping this device alive, much appreciated

The only (minor) issue I have experienced is what @FrozenPea described earlier:

On screen wake, I get a ~2 second delay before touch input is recognised. Is that normal? I had the same thing with your 12.1 ROM.

I should add that this does not happen if "Tap to wake" is enabled, which suggests a delay when turning on the digitizer after turning the screen on. Since the digitizer is always on when "Tap to wake" is enabled, this never happens.

I come from an old build of LineageOS v17.1 where this did not happen either. Anyway, just a minor annoyance, hopefully it can be fixed

Is hw decoding of begr 10bit working on this like for example in Plex? Didn't work before in 12 roms. Is this bug fixed?

Well I finally took the plunge and upgraded from 19. Hats off to @kyasu for another brilliant ROM. Everything I use is working perfectly including the Sky Go app. The only other ROM I've found that it runs on without having to mess around with installing Magisk 23.0 is the 19 version.

It's incredible that this device has a fully functioning A13 OS available!!!

Edit: I haven't experienced the lag with touch screen on wake up after two days of use as referenced above. This ROM is very snappy.

Further edit: no need to disable HD Audio for Bluetooth headphones to work unlike the 19 ROM

Thanks for the update. I installed it over the previous build and on rebooting Play Store repeatedly crashed without me trying to open it and other Google apps such as Chat wouldn't work. I then reflashed the MindtheGapps package and opened Play Store but it said I was offline (I wasn't). I went into settings and enabled Network Access and it now works (as does Chat). However other Google Apps such as Lens and One try to open but don't. I reflashed the MindtheGapps package again and wiped Cache and Dalvik but it's the same. Any ideas on what I should do next?

If you forget to install Gapps and boot the device once, this situation will occur. Adding GApps later doesn't fully bring it back.
When you update with dirty flash, you need to install both LOS and GApps.

Thanks for that information I didn't realise that as on the 19 build I used to just flash the updates.

It works for me.

Edit: I sorted out the issue I posted about above on this page by formatting data. I was planning a full reinstall but I clicked reboot System and it rebooted to the start screen of the OS. I had to reinstall my apps but everything is working perfectly again now. Maybe that is something to consider but I'd wait for advice from more knowledgeable members than me first.

Same "problem" here. But I think this is the default behavior in Android 13 for big screens (see second screenshot here).

The only way I have found to get the app drawer to cover the whole screen is by playing with Settings -> Display -> Display size and text.

I have both Font size and Display size in the second position from the left. If you move Display size to position 5 (one more than half the slider width) then you will get the app drawer to cover the whole screen. By the way, I have a Mipad4 Plus (10 inches) so this issue might not appear on the model with a smaller screen (8 inches).

For me, everything becomes too big, thus I do not use it like that, but it might work for you

@CityKev, can you share your settings for Font and Display size, also, do you have the 8 or 10 inch model?

Finally, do you guys experience what I mentioned in my previous message about 2-3 seconds unresponsive touch screen when waking up the device?

I have the 8 inch version. I thought that this ROM is specifically for this version actually and not the Plus model. I've seen that there is a Lineage 20 ROM for the Plus here so maybe that would solve the display error.

Thanks, this ROM supports all devices, I went through the source repos to confirm that that was the case before installing it. In fact, all hardware in my device works fine, including the LTE modem

I am aware of the ROM that you point out but I have not tried it yet, as my only issue with this one is that small 2-3 second unresponsive touch panel when waking up the device. I can live with that Sorry to insist, do you experience that in your device?

The thing with the app drawer is just cosmetic and does not bother me at all... and it looks like it is a "feature" of Android 12/13.

I don't have the lag on wake up. I've seen earlier in the thread that some do and I mentioned then that I haven't experienced it in my first comment after installing it above. After a week of use that is still the case. This ROM works really well for me as did the 19 version.
