A full data backup is recommended before upgrade I suppose, right?

Always take backup between major versions. I have tested upgrade from 18.1 to 20 without issues but you never know what could break.

I've just upgraded from 18.1 to 20 without any issues or data loss.
Rom is working great, no problem so far.

I have done clean install with MindTheGaps. Front camera is not working with stock ap.

Unroot everything works without any issues but why root detect on bank app

Surprise. Surprise. I thought the Mi Mix 2 was abandoned. Now we got LOS20/Android13. Made a "dirty" Flash from LOS18.1 to LOS 20 (incl. MindTheGapps) with OrangeFox. Works great. No issues so far.

I don't have any hard data for a real comparison. But first impression is, that battery life is at least on the same level as with LOS18.1. Maybe it's slightly better, because starting with Android 12, some efficiency improvements were introduced.

I currently have Lineage 17 and I'm planning to do a clean flash, also because I have boot loop issues sometimes. Can I keep using TWRP or is it better to switch to Lineage Recovery?

I want to make a full backup so that I can go back to Lineage 17 if I need to.
