So finally I decided to do a clean install of the latest PixelOS rom.

First I did an update to the latest Orangefox.
Then I erased all data, and did the firmware v14 update. Then I flashed de PixelOS rom.

Everything works fine and smooth, I think this is the best version so far. The dirty update was not an success for me... But I'm happy now.
Big thanks for the support👍

I recently flashed the 12th August 2022 build of 12L with all the necessary requirements. Everything seems great. The only problem is that the phone sometimes restarts or turns off after 2-3 seconds of receiving the call. It doesn't happen every time but it happens very frequently.

Did anyone experience this? and any solution for this?

Dirty flash this from the previous Feb 2 build and it works, no need to reapply network permissions. Again, very nice build. Nothing to complain, very nice work Aryan! :)

PixelOS is an AOSP based ROM, with Google apps included and all Pixel goodies (launcher, wallpapers, themed icons, google sans fonts, Monet color based system wide theming, boot animation), a fork of OG Pixel Experience with improvements on the top of it. Huge respect to Pixel Experience team for their work, thanks to them for making this ROM possible.
In short a fully functional Pixel Experience with just the right amount of essentials.

Code:

Device Specific Issues:
• Slow motion in miuicamera

Requirements
• Flash the ROM only with PixelOS recovery or my builds of OrangeFox recovery or TWRP (My builds, not the official versions)

Hi Aryan, hope your well. I have been using Pixel os for 6 months now and I love the rom. I was wondering if there were any plans to add the now playing feature into the rom as ambient music mod has not been working for me. Thanks

Pixel OS is great rom but please add system update option and send OTA update because dirty flash doesn't work for most of the people.
The rom is giving normal battery life but after installing microg and setting refresh rate to 120 the battery life got a hit.
Please bring back keyboard hide button and bar

Rom is great and very fine for me.
I just can't find the switch to invert the disposition of the navbar :

.
Does it exist and if Yes, where ?

Does anyone know how I can get the MIUI Leica camera that was present in the previous builds? I'm sure the devs had their reasons to switch to Aperture camera that we have currently have but the videos on the Leica camera were really great. It also had so many more additional features like the dolly zoom.

I'm surprised you're talking about Aperture camera as the information I found on telegram (notes) about the latest build says "MiuiCamera v4.5.002250.1 from MIUI V14.0.1.0.TKFEUXM is included".

Hey, returned to this ROM after seeing it was upgraded to Android 13. However you should update the recovery options to support Android 13. After flashing OrangeFox Recovery via fastboot my device got stuck in fastboot. After installing via the PixelOS recovery, I booted into the OS normally, however I can't for the life of me find the App Lock feature (searched all around settings and searched via search bar)

Well, the Aperture camera IS MIUICamera from what I understand. Correct me if I'm wrong about this. There was a different version MIUI camera with Leica settings (the one that is found on flagship Xiaomi phones) before the January build. On the blogpost for the January build, they mentioned that they're switching to Aperture camera, which is kinda like a basic MIUICamera that we find in all Xiaomi phones, and the same basic kind is used in all PixelOS builds ever since.

Now I'm wondering if there's any way to get the Leica MIUICamera back, in the form of APK or something...any info on this would be much appreciated.

Depends on your priorities, I suppose? The A13 Builds feel much snappier, but perhaps you'd get a similar effect if you reinstall your current version from scratch or even just upgrade the kernel, who knows. Also the new builds have the latest Android security patches -- but the importance of having those depends on your perceived threat profile

Aperture camera is the new default camera app of lineageos.

hello all,

I hope to find a hint from the hive brain.

I've switched to POS recently (coming from PE, Arrow...)
Strange behaviour with Display I cannot get my head around. It simply does not fall asleep (turn off). It dims, but despite turning off as it should after, i.e. 2 min, it goes dim and turns back on. BUT, if I manually turn the display off by using the power-on switch. It stays off until wake by call or manually.I have checked the touble tap to wake and sensor-related settings (afaik).
Any ideas?

Was clean-flashed.

SOLUTION (somehow): Turn on security lock - i choose a pattern. solves it.
well... maybe authenticator app messing around with display?

Great. Do u know if dirty flashing the A13 version from the Evo X A13 version will work?
I don't. I dirty flashed the previous version coming from ArrowOS. Didn't have any noteworthy issues but can't vouch for any other route. I remember having to add the network permission to many apps but that was expected and no trouble.

That's because the launcher got reversed to Pixel Launcher. Please read the changelog
Update resetted my startscreen and reactivated the Google app when sliding to the right. I disabled this and the clock/Date on the Main screen. Now all App symbols and my weather widget are gone. Not a big deal but shouldn't an update leave those settings just like they are? Installed update via updater not recovery.

I guess that applies only when using the default launcher. I have been using a different launcher, so the replacement of the default launcher had none of these effects here.

I would install a different launcher because I never like the default launcher on any device. My favourite is KISS Launcher but if you prefer a more conventional launcher with almost infinite customization options, I would suggest Nova Launcher.
Yeah I'm trying Lawnchair now. I didn't use it before because of a small buggy animation when going into recent apps. It's fixed now so giving it a try.

Thanks for already providing an update. The alarm did work but the phone obviously had rebooted.

The PixelOS August update is here.

Downloads and changelogs can be found here

Seen a few of you who had issues with smp2p_sleepstate. Should be fixed in this build. Enjoy!
    6
On my device I've found that sometimes my phone wasn't going to deep sleep because of smp2p_sleepstate wakelock.
I've decided to disable this kernel module and see what happens. I'm using this configuration since few days and I'm rather happy with the results - I don't see any regressions after disabling the module and my battery drain issue is solved. At least from this particular reason.

So I'd like to share the build.

As always, You're flashing this at your own risk. I don't know if this will work on any other rom than PixelOS (most probably will work. I'm not sure about miui based roms. Feel free to try).

It's regular Vantom kernel, compiled with latest commit 3c6e92509e0ad1aca8419db926b2cc82b1c5acb1 (HEAD -> courbet-12.1, origin/courbet-12.1).
Following changes have been made in comparing to defconfig:
    Diff:
    1c1
    < CONFIG_LOCALVERSION="-VantomKernel"
    ---
    > CONFIG_LOCALVERSION="-VantomKernel-Cthulhu-fhtagn"
    55c55
    < CONFIG_LTO_CLANG=y
    ---
    > CONFIG_LTO_NONE=y
    702c702
    < CONFIG_QCOM_SMP2P_SLEEPSTATE=y
    ---
    > CONFIG_QCOM_SMP2P_SLEEPSTATE=n

For best results use this with Naptime app and Google play services doze option checked.

Quick hotfix update for the July patch as I wasn't sure if we would have another Android 12 release as 13 is right around the corner.

You can download the build on the website now https://pixelos.vercel.app/download/sweet
A mirror for the build can be found here.

    Changelog:
    - Always on Display and Ambient Display will now run at 60hz
    - Fixed an issue with the microphone being too quiet in some apps
    - Fixed an issue where the google recorder didn't want to work for some users
    - Import the new display calibration file from MIUI V13.0.10.0.SKFEUXM
    - Update the s5kgw3 camera libraries from MIUI V13.0.5.0.SKFINXM
    - Imported a few missing display blobs
    - Address Xiaomi's displayfeature & citsensorservice denials
    - Enable 24-bit audio for primary output and deep buffer
    - Added high touch polling rate
    - Disabled IORAP
    - Updated the Adreno stack
    - Possibly fixed some issues with smp2p-sleepstate
    - Disabled CFI due to causing issues regarding performance
    - Upstreamed kernel to 4.14.288
    - Other improvements and changes

So does PixelOS Recovery support data decryption? It's a little hard to tell from this wording (since it is also by definition a custom recovery).

And if it does, is there a way to use it to mount decrypted /data and tar its contents up, with SELinux labels etc.? I'm willing to get my hands very dirty if it means I can avoid setting up the phone by hand again.
Hello, I've compiled a TWRP build that supports decrypting /data on Android 12 as well as supporting EROFS. It's a very early build but it does the job and I haven't run into any issues here. Enjoy!
