After using this ROM for a bit of time, I noticed that the automatic brightness can be a bit "hyperactive" in that even when keeping the phone still, the brightness varies very frequently (multiple times per second) in small but noticeable steps.
Is this something that anyone else observed and that could somehow be tweaked to be less sensitive to slight variations in light?

Install Magisk and LSPosed for zygisk
For spoofing you install latest FakeFApps and then Microg Installer Revived

When installed and rebooted it took me close to 1h toggling cloud messaging and device registration on/off between reboots before all apps started to connect
I think my biggest issue is finding a version of TWRP or OrangeFox that works with this ROM, what version did you flash?

Every one I try just results in a bootloop when trying to enter the recovery partition.

Thanks.

I'm using the provided Lineage recovery, only used it to install the rom.
Far as I know there is no working twrp or orangefox for this phone. Didn't find one for A12 and haven't even tried to find one for A13 since magisk is enough for me at the moment.

Hi everyone! I am currently using the xperia 1 ii with lineage. It works great, but regretfully notification light does not work. Does it appear to work in this ROM? (Presently I get the light during charging but not for notifications). I'd swap phones if indeed it did.

Thank you!

I can confirm this. I have not looked for a solution

Thank you!

Finally looks like this phone will be in use for a bit longer.

Installed yesterday on daily driver and everything is working this far.
Passes safetynet with and without magisk.
Tested microg and it also works.

Only thing this far that's not working is the assistant button,

Any plans on keeping this rom updated in the future?
Would love to help out with testing if it gets updated

EDIT! I have not tested if dual-sim works correctly
We are trying to make pdx206 official:

after a few days of using this daily, some things I've noticed:

The issue with incoming calls is a pretty big deal, The phone plays the ringtone but no notification or toast is shown on the screen. The only thing that can be done is wait for it to finish and then you'll get a missed call in your log. I notice nobody else mentioning this one, so...strange. I'll try flashing a clean version of the latest factory image and then the latest of this afterwards and see if it goes away.

In spite of the clear directions provided by another member I just can't get microG working correctly on this ROM. Location services are hit or miss and a number of programs crash with a error indicting that Play Services are unavailable.

Sony Xperia 5 II
Almost two days in with this ROM on my daily driver, so far so good. Things that don't work(build 20230202):
  • Color calibration values in Display settings > LiveDisplay reset to default after every reboot.
  • After every reboot the display runs in 60hz mode, even though 120 is selected in settings. Opening google maps(which always run at 60hz) and closing them puts the phone into 120hz mode. FIxed by forcing peak refresh rate in developer options
  • Notification LED is inconsistent. Sometimes it blinks properly, other times it's always on/off

Try enabling/force 120hz from Developer options
If enabled in normal settings, it raises refresh rate only for some content

(My English is terrible, and the following are all translated using Microsoft Translator.)

Someone on Gitlab has also reported that PDX203 has a similar problem.
    https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/5403

I had a report on this issue the other day.
    https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/5633

Currently, only the built-in speaker for Line Internet calls works, and nothing else works

I later tried reflashing the latest ROM using TWRP and didn't flash to magisk or any other flashing package and still ran into this issue.
I only got one report complaining audio not working on pdx203 in gitlab issues and when I asked for logs, the person reporting the issue is not providing one, so I didn't think much of it.

While I am not able to reproduce the issue locally, I have provided some steps and possible fixes in your gitlab issue, can you please check them out and report them in the gitlab issue?

Much appreciated, and sorry for the late reply.

    EDIT:
I think it would be better to also add some background information here (might not be very accurate).

Devices like Xperia 1 II and Xperia 5 II have an amplifier built-in named Cirrus Logic CS35L41, and it needs to be kickstarted and calibrated before it becomes full functional.

In current Lineage OS, the calibration part copies the code from SODP (Sony Open Devices Project) [1], and the calibration is done at boot time, where the amplifier will enter calibration mode, play silence music for 2 seconds, and then we can have the calibration data by reading the amplifier's internal state.

The problem why the speaker does not work in your devices is because something goes wrong during the amplifier calibrates itself, as I can see in the logcat. However, most of the devices will successfully play the silence music for 2 seconds and finish the calibration. So I am not able to determine why your device fail to calibrate that way. And if your devices' amplifier cannot be calibrated by playing silence sounds, it will fail to play any music through your speakers.

So instead of doing this self-calibrating step, the (possible) fix takes another approach, where it loads the factory calibration data directly from the TA partition. This is how audio is calibrated in stock.

Again, since I can't reproduce this problem locally, and considering this problem does not happen in most of the users, The fix may or may not work, but it does not require the amplifier to play the 2-second calibration sound and calibrate itself, which causes your problem.

The related patch is now on LineageOS's gerrit, if you want to take a look:

    [1]: https://github.com/hellobbn/vendor-...mmit/16e5da4f90f9766a06f4701e0af67bec23863298
I want to emphasize again that it is not us as maintainers being lazy. Your problem is actually not a very common and general issue, since most of the device can calibrate the amplifier successfully and it remains unknown why your device fail that step. If we can't reproduce the problem locally, it would be very hard to find the root cause.

Hi thanks for your work to the Xperia 5 II community, I want to know if this step is still needed when my 5 II is already running on the latest Android 12 firmware
"Ensuring all firmware partitions are consistent". As I understand, the flash steps are the below:
    1, unlock the bootloader
    2, flash the LOS recovery
3, wipe- factory reset, flash the firmware partitions (?), flash the LOS
    4, reboot to recovery
    5, flash gapps and add-ons
    6, reboot and enjoy
    Regards
    1. update to latest stock rom and firmware.
    2. unlock bootloader (this resets your device)
    3. flash LOS recovery using fastboot.
    4. reboot to LOS recovery.
    5. flash LOS
    6. reboot to LOS recovery.
    7. flash gapps and add ons if you need (optional)
    8. reboot and profit.
Please read 'Install LineageOS on pdx206'.

For anyone having problems with location.
I have been having problems with maps and other google services updating location after flashing latest nightly 0304.
It would refresh at boot intermittently, but then fail to update after that.
The presentation for me was settings unable to set dark theme and night light based on sunset and sunrise times.
I later found the problem was due to google play services being denied access to location, despite all the relevant permissions were granted in settings.
I installed appops and changed the permission for google play services to allow all the time, and now the problem is fixed.

I followed your steps and the ROM boot without problems, here is a bug I found, I can't add credit card to Google wallet.
For safetynet, you need magisk/safetynet fix/props config or ih8sn.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    Instructions

Please read 'Install LineageOS on pdx206'.
    • Flash Gapps (MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64 is recommended) as add-ons. That is, after flushing LOS, reboot into recovery and flush Gapps.
    Enjoy!
