I know this may be a stupid question but I haven't owned a pixel since the 2XL. I'm currently on build number T1B2.220916.004 stock of course. I'd like to try this rom but I'm a little confused on how to update the stock firmware before flashing. Does anyone have a link with instructions or just a tip on how to do that?

This is a common story with many developers, custom ROMs time of living counts in months. Than dev jumps to newer phone leaving his work behind.

Yeah, that really sucked. After trying a few I was very happy to find this, and it doesn't make us use telegram! If it is gone I don't know where I'll go next, some roms I've looked at have so few features why bother?

I know the OP hasn't said anything official, but that's just it. He hasn't said anything in so long it seems kind of inevitable now.

I ended up here after ProtonAOSP went EOL. It took me a long time to find a Raven ROM that didn't have built-in Gapps. If support for this ROM ends, then I don't know if there's any other options for deGoogling (not including Graphene; I'm not a fan). It would be a great shame as RiceAOSP is a fantastic ROM. I've grown very accustomed to the brilliant baked-in customisation and extremely smooth performance, all with the benefit of no Google bloat.

Oh wow that's great news. Iirc, when I checked previously, Gapps was bundled, or it wasn't available for Raven. CrDroid was the ROM that I used on my previous phone. It's good to know that there's a backup, in the event that Rice fizzles out. Thanks for the heads up

jumped ship to crdroid + nikgapps, only a few bugs, if there ever is another build of this rom released i will jump back

I flashed it to on oriole using mind the gapps. Android setup work perfect i think. I wonder if there's a gapps with more stuff that works. I tried a magisk one and it gave me stuff but half of them didn't work lol. I miss rice droid I was using it on like version 5 or under with a different developer who dropped out. His version 5 was like nearly bug free only some system UI issue would pop up after a day or 2. I think from reading the new rice droid under new Dev had more issues.

nope, I don't remember having any bugs on the last version of this rom, only reason I changed roms is bc I wanted QPR1
