I have installed this ROM and it seems good to me, but i have found some bugs.
- Sometimes I have to press and hold the power button twice to get the power menu to show up after open an app. (For example when i reproduce a video on YouTube or on browser).
- usb debugging is automatically activate when i power on the phone or restart, even when developer mode is off. I must to active developer mode and desactive usb debugging manually.
1. That's a common problem with the kernel, where the fingerprint reader also acts as a button and because of that, the shutdown menu doesn't appear if you cover the entire button by pressing it.

There is a Magisk module that solves it, but I have no idea because no dev has implemented it in their ROMs.

2. That's because the ROM is a "userdebug" compilation, and this makes USB debugging always enabled. This is only in the hands of the developer whether he decides to compile the ROM as a "user" build or not.

Hi,

I have PE installed now for about 2 weeks. Last night something stopped to work - spontaneously.

Without reboot [unless self reboot] keyboard stopped showing up to enter password, can't login to phone.

I was trying to sideload keyboard
I get message
Code:
/system/bin/sh: pm: inaccessible or not found
or
Code:
error: closed
-waiting for device-

- device is listed when running command > adb devices
- I can change tile for connection sharing and use internet from affected device elsewhere
- Bluetooth connect to paired devices but does not auto-play when external device media button pressed
- I have connected mechanical keyboard trough OTG/charging port, but it doesn't accept keystrokes
- it received at least one SMS
- I have disabled google keyboard - more than week ago

---------------------------

Took out the cards, rebooted. Could type in password from external USB keyboard now. Enabled back Gboard.

Discovered that all other software Keyboards are mounted on SD card and can't be transferred into "internal shared storage". Although option exists under Storage menu, it does not respond to "Move" action/click.

-------------------------------

I have many G stuff disabled: well-being, players, intelligence, auto, chrome, files, google, AR, photos, personal safety.

Now the issues I have: I use AlarmClock Xtreme [I'll use this app as example]. It often looses permissions [settings change spontaneously at some point]:
1) access to screen saver [[it seems to work despite warning - in this app]
2) battery optimization goes back to default - optimized,
3) it asks me to check does it autostart suggesting it doesn't { I need to use 3rd party app to check that - I can't find builtin setting preview for autostart - 3rd party app says its OK, but since it is 3rd party and wasn't updated for some time it might have not very accurate results - if I go by app behaviour - it still works when required, but as it is one of the most important apps certanity is crutial}
4) Alarms and reminders permission reverts back to - NOT ALLOWED - AND it can't be changed to allowed [I found workaround by chance - when I go and install or uninstall any app from f-droid and go back to this setting I find it now as allowed - once APP trick is used then all apps that were allowed beforehand go back to allowed state]

- Magisk constantly asks for root permissions for apps although when I check Magisk's settings it has all set up correctly with permanent permissions [once TitanuimBackup lost root permission, but it has not reproduced for now]

Phone has self rebooted in last hour and Alarm app has requested all this permissions again hence I assume that it reboots more often without me noticing.

Interestingly some apps I have disabled battery optimization for remained 'not optimized' but likes of: alarm Xtreme, K9 Mail, QKSMS, reverts at some unknown intervals - probably self reboot.

Thanks for ROM, hope notes will help you guys.

Device rebooted on its own and no keyboard is available to input password on screenlock - gboard as described above is now enabled.

Any clues? IN next few hours I won't be able to use external keyboard to log in.

In my opinion, you did an OTA update (29/03/23) a new update came out, it's possible that something got mixed up. Everything worked fine for 2 weeks, so the situation is even more suspicious. A clean install of a new release is always recommended, dirty-flash is not recommended. Are there more people with this problem? I might be wrong. Regards.

Hi! Is Netflix working properly on your device?

I did a clean install of PE13+ using the official guide. All seems fine except I get an error 5.7.0 when I start a movie, which seems related to a storage problem.
Amazon Prime video doesn't work either. Maybe it's more a DRM issue

I don't know if it's related but sometimes YouTube video stop loading. I need to restart the app or launch another video

Edit: I also don't have MMS send and receive

It was working for me on the 02/25 build, but stopped working (also error 5.7.0) on the latest build from 03/29.

Installed it yesterday. Works great. UL Photos available with the ROM which is great. Just one thing I noticed, ultra wide lens isn't working on the camera app. Everything else works great.

Edit: Fingerprint is not working.

If anyone's interested, I have a Plus build with the May security patch here: AndroidFileHost

Please do not expect support. I just wanted to share these. I know just enough to get a build working, but I don't know how to fix bugs, unfortunately. I've also only built the Plus version as that's what I use, and building both Plus and non-Plus versions take twice the time and storage space. Dirty flash over the corresponding April 2023 official build (plus->plus) is possible and confirmed to work but not recommended.

To install: Download the appropriate .img and .zip file, install the image using fastboot flash boot <file>.img, reboot into recovery, then install the ROM using adb sideload <file>.zip.

For those interested, this unofficial build was built in a Docker container, which is a considerably lighter method than a full VM. Tutorial for building in Docker here.

    Happy Monday to everyone!

Avoid using the PE recovery. Boot twrp 3.6.2 from fastboot, then go to sideload menu, start it and sideload the rom.

This worked for me after struggling with the PE recovery.

This is a custom rom, and it is always recommended to clean flash to a new version of Android. If you do dirty flash it will work, however you may have random bugs of your own and risk
