In the new build, we no longer have the option to select the network indicator in the status bar or notification panel, it only has the function of turning it on and off

If anyone's interested, I have a Plus build with the May security patch here: AndroidFileHost

Please do not expect support. I just wanted to share these. I know just enough to get a build working, but I don't know how to fix bugs, unfortunately. I've also only built the Plus version as that's what I use, and building both Plus and non-Plus versions take twice the time and storage space. Dirty flash over the corresponding April 2023 official build (plus->plus) is possible and confirmed to work but not recommended.

To install: Download the appropriate .img and .zip file, install the image using fastboot flash boot <file>.img, reboot into recovery, then install the ROM using adb sideload <file>.zip.

For those interested, this unofficial build was built in a Docker container, which is a considerably lighter method than a full VM. Tutorial for building in Docker here.

Happy Monday to everyone!

It is very sad news that there is no longer a maintainer for the spes/spesn version of the PE ROM... Since beginning of June, I installed SuperiorOS as alternative.
Of course, I will continue, following the developments of PE for spes/spesn, because I do prefer the PixelEsperience ROM for its simplicity!

I haven't touched Paranoid Android since the days of the Nexus 7. How is it these days? Does it also pass SafetyNet by default?

Yes, Chris is using a backup Poco X3 NFC and is building Topaz for that device, according to their Telegram.
More stable , a bit change from pixel experience 13, security update 5-5-2023, welp i dunno abt safetynet

64mp work on this rom? thanks
It does "work", but don't use it. The "64mp" spec listed on the box is just marketing bs, they are counting subpixels I believe. Your photos will always come out as 12mp, but the stock camera just upscales it to 64mp. I believe that they are not even using any kind of AI to upscale it, they just add some useless pixels to the existing picture. Makes every photo take way more space without any benefit

When will this ROM get updated? July is already starting and there's still no new update :(
In general, asking for ETAs for updates or fixes is considered bad manners in this community.

Remember devs are humans, they have a life and things to do. Mantaining a ROM is a voluntary non-paid job, and users are not entitled to get anything. If you really really really need a fix or an update, do it yourself or switch to another custom firmware project.

Pixel Experience generates monthly builds for supported devices. June's build was postponed in all devices due to personal issues in PE team (IIRC it was burnout or something like that).

If things go well, we could get a new build during this month. We still don't know what the changelog would look like, but at least we should the latest security patch.

Because of the mantainer change, there's a small chance that the next build will require a clean build, but nobody knows at this point.

You can get more news and conversation in the Pixel Experience Telegram Channel.

Avoid using the PE recovery. Boot twrp 3.6.2 from fastboot, then go to sideload menu, start it and sideload the rom.

This worked for me after struggling with the PE recovery.
