Hello , i just installed the rom and it's super fast compared to stock rom , really appreciate the effort
When i try to use file transfer, the media device doesn't show in "this PC" but i can only see my device name in "devices and printer section" . Any clue how to show it and be able to transfer files ?
yup same problem with me too and is your google assistant working?? like when you say hey google

i did check this before , i hear the sound of the phone plugged in and i choose file transfer, the phone icon doesnt appear inside "this PC" , but when i restarted the phone into recovery it worked and i can transfer files but doesnt work when phone in ON.
Turn on media transfer from USB debugging in mobile ( toggle will come in notification bar ) while connecting to PC

Edit: Was having trouble with this after flashing from Orange Fox. Managed to wipe Orange Fox with TWRP and install from there. Now LOS looks to be functioning swimmingly! :)

Hmm, doesn't look like it's connecting to LTE.

Anybody else experienced this? It was working on stock ROM.

I've been using 2023-05-27 build as my daily driver since release (about 9 days).
Solid rom, smooth, no bugs at all, everything just works as intended.
Banking apps, social media, youtube, the usual stuff. I dont play games on my phone. Battery life is good as well.
I think i will fnally stop ROM-hopping and stick with this rom.
Thank you for you work @baunilla

Rosy 3/32

What i did:
Flashed stock rom V9.2.3.0.NDAMIEK with Xiaomi MiFlash Tool (clean_all, keeping device unlocked).
Fastboot boot KewL-TWRP-3.4.0-rosy.img and flash latest firmware V11.0.2.0.ODAMIXM (this was required since twrp-3.7.0_12-6-rosy.img does not work with the stock rom version i used).
Fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.7.0_12-6-rosy.img (after flashing latest firmware).
Format data.
Wipe dalvik cache, cache, system, vendor.
Adb sideload lineage-20.0-20230527-UNOFFICIAL-rosy.zip.
Adb sideload latest nikgapps omni.
Done!

i still dont get how people say this rom works great no bugs at all while i have the weirdest problems possible. like what did i do to suffer from all those weird reboots and other weirdness. and everytime i send a log i turns out to happen for the most bizarre reason ever. obviously not saying that if i have to suffer then everybody has to as well its just that i dont know what i did so differently.

What version is your device?
Does the device works fine with stock rom?
Do you use any kind of root? e.g. Magisk

Maybe is not a problem with the rom itself, but with your scenario...

Your log shows broken selinux contexts, most likely coming from your persist partition.

Please try this and let me know:

1. Clean flash the latest build.

2. Download attachment and flash it in twrp

(zip includes new kernel and modified fstab file)

You can confirm it in About phone, by looking at kernel date June 5th

just out of curiosity, what would happen if i didn't clean flash first?

...this was required since twrp-3.7.0_12-6-rosy.img does not work with the stock rom version i used...
FDE support was restored in twrp 3.7.0_12-7 so it should be fine now with older roms.

If you want to restore your persist partition to factory defaults, miFlash tool can do it:
What i did: Flashed stock rom V9.2.3.0.NDAMIEK with Xiaomi MiFlash Tool (clean_all, keeping device unlocked)...

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now maybe void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear
* war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some
* research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

LineageOS 20.0 for Xiaomi Redmi 5 (rosy)

Installation

1. If you're coming from another ROM or performing a clean flash:
  • Reboot to Recovery
  • Backup any important data
  • Format Data partition
  • Wipe Dalvik, Cache, System, Vendor
  • Flash the ROM
  • Flash GApps (optional)
  • Reboot to System
2. If you're updating the ROM or performing a dirty flash:
  • Reboot to Recovery
  • Flash the ROM
  • Wipe Cache
  • Reboot to System

Downloads

OTA Updates
  • Once an update is available in System settings, download the update package and select Install. The device will restart itself and install the update.
  • Consider enabling auto-delete in Updater settings, since each OTA package can take up a significant amount of storage space.

Reporting Bugs
  • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel, have installed Magisk, or have made modifications to read-only partitions (with GApps being the only exception).
  • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
  • Remember to provide as much info as possible, including the necessary steps to reproduce your issue. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved.
