the latest update broke the NFC, it greyed out on quick settings. And also cannot install magisk module on boot.img, I've tried using patched boot.img and magisk zip installer from recovery, both ways give me zero result, the rom cannot be rooted, it worked before the latest update
Hi, I'm using a Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G (codename VEUX, model 2201116SG), I've successfully updated the ROM to the latest build as of today (19th December 2022 build), and I don't have NFC issues. I suggest you to try flashing the latest vendor_boot.img for your stock MIUI ROM, because vendor_boot.img contains firmwares for your device. So, by flashing vendor_boot.img, the ROM can communicate with the NFC module correctly.

Also, I had some problem with the OTA update. At first, I try to update the ROM from System Update. It managed to download the file, but when I press "Install", and press "OK" on the prompt, it immediately go back to the System Settings, and show a pop-up saying "System Update keeps stopping". So, I tried dirty flashing the ROM using TWRP, but I get some errors saying "Failed to mount '/system_root' (invalid argument)". When I restart the phone, it failed to boot to system, and only boots to the Evolution X recovery (TWRP is lost at this point), it says something like data corruption and need to wipe data.

I've manage to fix it by booting the phone to fastboot mode, and reflashing TWRP. The phone can then boot normally, and update to the latest version. I've also tried checking "Reflash TWRP after flashing ROM", but I still lost TWRP after flashing the ROM, so I need to manually flash TWRP after updating the ROM.

Use the app list and enter settings to disable the GCam light as you wont be needing it, then go on whe web and download this version of Gcam:

MGC_8.6.101_A9_GV1zfix_MGC apk , should be around 101MB size.

All functions work, HDR works, google white balance is a little off but I work it around by using saturation in post processing via photos app.

I use it as a daily driver for 3 weeks now. Prime Video works, most streaming apps work, banking apps work. Bascially I didn't come across an app that I was using on stock that doesn't work.

Only feature I'm missing in this ROM is the DOLBY Atmos Audio. Other than that, the ROM is good.

I do notice that in my opinion, the battery life is a bit reduced compared to STOCK Android, especially when watching videos constantly. I ususally was able to charge the phone to 100, go about my day, use it daily, get 3 hours of youtube streaming on 90% brightness and come home after the day with 25-30% juice. Now it seems I get like 8-12% battery left at the end of the day. But If I don't watch videos or keep the screen on a lot, I thunk the battery runs even better than Stock MIUI. No idea where the difference comes from.

As above, try this:

MGC_8.6.101_A9_GV1zfix_MGC apk
You can use Magisk + a Dolby Magisk Module like Dolby from ZTE A2019 Pro (which I use). Check the TG group androidryukimodsdiscussions

So, you're not dependent on your ROM having Dolby.

OTA constantly crashes and I believe it's due to it not being able to read the downloaded ROM package because it is stored in an encrypted path, maybe if you switch the path and rebrand device's models names in the manifest it will work? Just a thought.

I also notice the link to your kernel sources does not work, it always results in a "404" error, I presume it's private or deleted but why is that?

Does this ROM enable recording at 60fps and 4k on the x4 pro? Since it's the same hardware on Rdn 11 pro and the ROM is the same

Can anyone confirm if they can get 5G in this ROM? I am not able to get it. Further I tried to rollback to MIUI just to try 5G but MI Flash shows error "Set Active a error".

PLEASE DO NOT FLASH GAPPS, THEY ARE ALREADY INCLUDED

First Time Install / Clean Flash from MIUI

1. Reboot to Fastboot
2. Download your desired recovery for your device.
3. FORMAT data. (Requires full backup of internal storage)

5. Reboot to System and #KeepEvolving

Update / Dirty Flash

If anyone can elaborate on what they are using as a custom recovery such as Orange Fox or TWRP that would be great. I am not finding success with my Xaiomi Note 11 Pro 5G. Any comments or help is greatly appreciated.

Does anybody know how to update the firmware on veux or peux to the latest firmware , should I just sidelod the firmware zip file?

    YES! 👍

They disabled it for now in preparation for the Android 14 update. It is intentional to prevent dirty flashing from Android 13 to 14.
System Update button inside Settings->System disappeared after update to 7.9.8.

What firmware is required to run this? Is 14.0.2.0.TKCMIXM okay?
It should be okay considering that the latest build used that one.

I like custom roms, but non i've used have floating windows like miui. I can't live without floating windows since i love to multi task. You can argue that split screen is the same, but too me it isn't since i can move around anywhere. Plus it's easier to start a floating windows with the gesture than clicking manually to do a split screen.
if their's any rom that has floating windows i would switch in a heartbeat

    Hi @Ashish11948,

As has been mentioned previously in this thread:

    your kernel source link:
gives a 404 error. In the stickied thread at the top of every section, Post #2 "XDA-Developers and the GPL" specifies the kernel source code must be directly linked to in the OP.

I also notice you haven't been on the forum for almost seven weeks. In order to qualify as a Development thread (and be allowed a single social media link in the OP), primary support must be provided on XDA as mentioned in Post #3 "Threads Prefixed by [Development]".

If you have things going on in real life that prevent this right now, then that's understandable, but in that case I'll have to change your thread to a [General] [SHARED] type instead of Development. I'm actually under the impression your thread might not qualify as Development anyway, since your OP says that @joeyhuab is the developer, but if you come back and correct the things that must be corrected, you can clarify if you're the official maintainer or if you're just sharing someone else's development.

I can give you five days from now to correct the kernel source link and let me know about your status as a developer.

    Cheers,

    @roirraW "edor" ehT
I think he just changed GitHub usernames that's why the link is now invalid. Maybe forgot to update it. Anyways, here's the link: https://github.com/JaswalAshish/kernel_xiaomi_sm8350/commits/tiramisu found in his device tree in our org. Check attachment.

The last update broke the NFC module. Payments don't work, Quick Settings NFC tile is greyed out
