Aight, Rom's cool and all but it DOES have flaws. These things also apply to LineageOS 19.1 for J5.

And I use a (J53Gxx, J500H) device.


1. Battery life is absolute trash, 100% Charge goes away in like 1-1.5 hours, That's with all the apps shut down, Turn on an app like google chrome and battery life gets even worse, If I leave my phone somewhere with nothing open on it and come back to it after 7 hours of sleep it would've probably lost 70% of the charge, I tried every setting for battery and toned down everything and the battery still sucks. And the surface that I left the phone on is hot ASF.

2. RAM usage is horrendous, The system uses an average of 700-800 MBs of RAM out of 1.4GBs, If I open a heavy game/app I can literally feel the phone melting in my hands.

3. The Gapp Package you provided doesn't even work properly (NikGapps Core) if I try to install any app from the Play Store it's just stuck on pending, I reflashed the system like 10x times and nothing works.

4. Apps like Youtube and XManager don't work, They just crash the moment I open them saying that "... Keeps crashing" both on LOS19 and 20.

And many more.


And no, It is not my device's fault, I flashed it from SpaceOS, When I came back to SpaceOS after discovering the amount of flaws in this rom, None of these flaws are there, Battery life's normal, If I go to sleep and wake up it loses only like 10% charge which is fine, All apps work n' Such, Ram usage is normal.

I tried every LOS rom that you made, 17 to 18, to 19, to 20 and all have the same flaws, I went to a rom like BlissOs 14 (android 11) and none of these flaws were there.

And I know that 3. and 4. probably aren't a result of the device but 1. and 2. are.


I don't know if that is only for me tho.

I reflashed the rom, Let's see if these get fixed.

Alright, After a lot of tweaks, A lot of reflashes I finally got it stable.

Battery life: I tried my best to tweak with it and it's average, Custom roms use more ram anyway, If I turn of the Wi-Fi when I am not using it it then it won't use much memory if I don't use it.
Gapps: Somehow google play just starting working after I reflashed the Gapps and rom, Youtube also works now.
RAM: A lot better, The device is now at normal temprature mostly.

Conclusion: It got a whole lot better and I can finally use it! Even tho I don't like modern android it's better than Cyanogenmod in 2022.

Hello daviiid99 and form members. First of all im sorry for my bad english. My problem is when i flash the rom and open the youtube everything look normal. But when i change video quality to 720p60, 1080p and 1080p60 the video start lagging (like a low framrates). How can i solve this problem. My device is J510FN. I hope you understand my problem. Thank you.

Idk in other ROMs but on my LineageOS build 18.x,19.x and 20.x this happens.
Screen resolution is limited to device hw because makes no sense to fake it anyway

For those like myself Samsung J500F

Root and Install​

1. Root Device (Read the forums - I used a combination of Dev settings, ODIN, etc) -> I "semi bricked" my device (missed a step or two) and had to load the Stock ROM I found on the web. My +- guide on Rooting my Device below:
   1. Enable Developer mode
   2. Enable USB Debugging
   3. Enable OEM unlock
   4. Shutdown and Boot into "loading mode" <Volume Down> + <Home> + <Power>
   5. Used Odin and an "AP" file called "CF-Auto-Root-j5lte-j5ltexx-smj500f.tar.md5" for rooting -> Device reboots 2 times
2. Load TWRP by:
   1. Shutdown and Boot into "loading mode" <Volume Down> + <Home> + <Power>
   2. Used Odin and the TWRP "AP" file to load TWRP
   3. After Shutdown boot into recovery by <Volume Up> + <Home> + <Power>
3. Use TWRP to make a full backup BEFORE you wipe your device,
4. Download the latest ROM from this forum including the GApps -> Initially I used an earlier version (or other LinageOS) and SIM and Bluetooth did not work,
5. Save the above files to the device OR SD card and insert the SD in the Phone
6. Boot the device into recovery mode in TWRP
7. Install the ROM and GApp in one go then
8. Delete Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache, then Reboot (If I do not delete all these then the phone get stuck on the boot dcreen)
9. After some setup, I rebooted again just to make sure the Sim was picked up..
10. AFTER your phone is fully loaded, DO MAKE another backup using TWRP that you can save to your PC just incase you need to reset back to it.

Bluetooth Issues​

1. Seems to be caused by wiping some or other Partition see This link in This forum
2. Basically, start over by reloading the Stock Rom, Root, TWRP, Then load This Rom and GApps...

Note on BT:

1. Seems you need to find the LATEST Stock Rom for your device
2. I used this Stock rom site, was supplied to me by another Forum

All working correctly now.

Check your trees for codecs configuration.
Maybe you have broken hardware codecs config and the phone fallbacks to slow software decoding. MSM8916 supports h264/AVC/VP8 with resolution up to 1920x1088 and HEVC up to 1280x720 with Qualcomm's software decoder.
