I suspect your dalvikvm heapsize is too small, try increasing it to 24 or even 32

do the via settings, or by editing the build.props

have a look first
Code:
getprop dalvik.vm.heapsize

if it is low

Code:
su
busybox mount -o remount,rw /system
sed -i '[email protected]^dalvik.*heap.*@dalvik.vm.heapsize=[B]24[/B][email protected]' /system/build*prop

and reboot

another option is to find and use an older facebook app which doesn't need so much mem to run

btw you don't have to use sed you can edit the file how you like
sed is just nice and easy if you know what you need to edit
and here I'm actually editing multiple files in one go to cover all bases as it could be in trout or sapphire build props

Thanks for replying, ok I did this:

D:\SDK\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb shell
# getprop dalvik.vm.heapsize
getprop dalvik.vm.heapsize

doesn't return anything... but maybe you're right dalvikvm heapsize it's too small I will to increase in build.props (so that every time I install the rom has the right dalvikvm.heapsize) but dalvik.vm.heapsize it't not present, what place do I add it? would be something like this? dalvik.vm.heapsize=32

I'll look into this and will probably add it in the next build. (Btw, next build will be mostly fixing problems my gf complains about)

Adding dalvik.vm.heapsize=32 in build.props solve facebook issue

@tvall
You should add dalvik.vm.heapsize=32 in build.props and BindCache script in next build

was that 32 or 32m

I thought you need the m on the end but I may be wrong

as for BindCache script I don't think you need it in the rom

I think you're right about the m, and for BindCache script maybe some users (like me) uses custom mtd and have the market download issue, any way it's not my rom I just suggest that

some users don't use cmtd

Users who do use cmtd should look after that themselves

no sense in introducing a script that may complicate things and cause issues when there is no need for it in the first place

besides I thought cmtd wrote bindcache script when you patched boot

Now I see why I had /cache/download issue was because I'm using the latest version of CMTD (1.5.9) in that version firerat removed BindCache script but in older versions it's present.

Advice for users using CMTD in this rom:
use at most CMTD 1.5.8

Next build might take a while... parents have cleared out my bank account and left me several states from home.... what's the cheapest way to get from Georgia to missouri?

Btw, my girlfriend's phone is refusing to charge. So unless I get a new one, any updates will be untested and experimental. And possibly non existant.
However, I still want to release a 2.2.3 version. Ill try and build it as soon as I get a computer working...

Note: Do NOT send me (tvall) messages asking questions about the rom, installation of the rom, reporting bugs, or asking about updates (unless told by a member of the team to do so). I will NOT reply quickly or in a helpful way. Post on this thread. People will take you seriously and give you decent answers (usually).

Note: rules on using this rom for other projects

If you use prebuilt anything from releases of this rom, please be nice and send me a pm asking for permission. this is supposed to be an open community, but i hate seeing 20+ cm7 roms with nothing different except name and bundled apps. If you don't ask, and you havent made something different enough from this rom to be worth having its own thread, it may or may not get reported.

Yeah. They are all on my dropbox and dropbox disables public links for me every couple weeks. I'll try to upload somewhere else on Monday during lunch. No promises.

okay i'm back from the marathon.

i was quite worried about battery life with GPS and GPRS active[I wanted my friends to be able to follow me online], since it never lasted more than 3.5hrs before with any ROM, no matter me turning Airplane mode on, lowering min+max CPU frequency, so I usually take 2 batteries, as I did now as well.

whatever modifications came into force about Froyo 2.2.2, it made my phone last my 4h11m run!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! GPS and mobile network on, background communications and sync obviously off, no music and such,a couple of phone calls and texts, but it did last a marathon of an average runner like me!

now I'm quite sure about that I definitely don't need a new phone yet with this ROM.

this ROM is snappy and stable.

    I'm with you guys!
