i'm about to test your rom. i tried using the ICS roms, but they are all too broken. i'll report back in about 2 hours.

EDIT: nm. i clicked the wrong version on the phone and now i have to wait 30 minutes to get another file. i'll have to try something else.

I have tested it but if you have the older versions you MAY be able to use the update version from any of them. I know it works from v2a to the update. But may be worth a try since the update is smaller in size. Hope you get around to trying it out.

It works fine for me with no fancy dance required after the kernel swap. I have loaded up all my apps from marketplace without issue.

Definitely not an issue I have seen. Has to be something with the download on your end or maybe not signed in with Google? Did you restore with tibu? Something else must be causing it though. Let me know if you get it worked out.

Ran this all day today with no problems at all.
I think I found a keeper to replace ICScrewd. It has everything I want. All I need to do is see how the battery life is.

Glad to hear. If you can find anything you want changed or issue I can look into it (other than that darn video call button you see when you hang up. Its a pain in the are for me).. Thanks again
For me battery life seemed pretty good but I am CONSTANTLY messing with my phone an rooting or going into recovery so much it kills my battery.

Well this ROM is still running fine for me. The only issue I have imagined/noticed is that the GPS locks seem to be pretty slow. A reboot always seems to help though.
I thing its a real phenomenon because I slide the phone into my car dock every morning and usually have a lock before I back out of the driveway. Now its taking several blocks to lock. Is the modem the UCKH7 as shown on the about phone screen or is your default the other one you liked, jk4 I think? I may reflash the UCKH7 just to see if it helps.

I had some issues with ICScrewd and a few programs like Waze and Business Calendar but with Cobra ROM they went away.


I see you are considering making a ICS version? I am very interested in that as your ideas of phone setup match mine exactly. Of course I an itching to get 4.03 on my phone but really, this ROM meets all my needs and desires right now. I cant believe your arent getting more traffic here. Although perhaps thats because your ROM has no bugs?

Thanks for the props. Yes I switched it to uckh7 because while I was testing it out I was getting echo with kj4. But flashing any modem on top will work as long as you use a Samsung based cwm modem zip. Again Thanks

Hey Rock Ratt, I am still running this excellent rom after trying out CM9 nightlies for a few days. I am just wondering what you changed to once CM9 came out since you said you were a big CyanogenMod fan?

Well I decided to start porting ICS roms from the i9100 section. I made a port of OmegaRom which is pretty close to the same as this Rom but even more fully awesome. I got messages between him/I mixed up and made a post with it about a week ago but then removed it since he wants to post it up for us. I worked with the i9100 dev for Omega Rom and he should be hopefully putting up a link in our i777 forums. I did alot of the porting and working with him and then he would send me test builds. The last build is great so hopefully it gets put up really soon.
I will probably jump back on cm9 at some point also. I tend to try out many roms on a daily or weekly basis. So if you like my CobraRom then I think you will really like OmegaRom Black and Blue. Look for it soon.

Had to downgrade to GB cuz ICS just doesnt feel great (yet). Decided to give this Rom a go and Im very happy with it. The theme is very nice and runs really good. Maybe its just the difference from ICS and GB. Either way, well done man.

Very nice! I am actually back on this rom again after running at least 5 other ICS roms and deciding each one had something I didn't like.

I see the zip has a zImage file from March 7th. I am assuming that is the Entropy kernel that my phone hates? Can I delete that from the zip before flashing or do I have to replace it with the one I normally use?

Yes. Swap in any kernel that works best for you. Or if you have a cwm flashable you should be able to install then once booted up go back to cwm and flash whichever kernel you like. Your choice. I also noticed I had included the new ics modem leak in it. So if that doesn't work in your area you can flash any one made for sammy roms also.
