What could cause the system not to ask for my sim pin?

Don't get what you mean fella I'm not German nd don't think it's any thing to do with the theme just after a setting or options button in navigation bar all the time

Yes, there is a option, to have always a menu button in the nav bar.

Venom tweaks -> keyboard, buttons & gestures -> navigation bar -> show menu

Have you been to Settings > Security > SIM Card Lock? I don't use that feature, but maybe it'll help you...

Tried to install my favorite... no chance.
Done full wipe - factory reset - manual wipe if all... before and after setup wipe of data, dalvik incl. factory reset...

Never succeed to start more than hboot, fast boot and recovery. Each start ends up at hboot.
Restore worked fine.

Viper works perfectly with M8.
are you sure you've got the right version?
Someone else was having the same problem due to that a few days ago.

The file Is about 1.38GB

Not found the background color of the navigation bar is transparent

open venom tweaks ... swipe to the tab "HOME SCREEN"
scroll down to DOCK SETTINGS ...
set the panel transparancy to whtaever you need

Learned it the hard way that this rom does not support ART yet.

Oh well, now that I search for it (LOL).. I see a few more people have been in the same boat.. oh well.. you live and learn!

Speaking of which... I really really hope an ART and odexed version of ViperRom comes out soon.

Speaking of which... I really really hope an ART and odexed version of ViperRom comes out soon.

That would mean basically you would no longer have any of the cool things that make up this deodexed ROM. No idea why you would hope for that.

Two solutions:
1. Turn your phone off and plug it in. Leave it alone and let it fully charge. Leave it on the charger extra if you're not sure. Battery will "recalibrate" all by itself.
2. Here, you can use this app called Battery Calibration. Charge all the way then press the button. It deletes a file and "calibrates" the battery.
