Installation steps:

1. Download this rom and copy it to your sd card.
2. Full wipe
3. Boot into recovery and install the zip file.
4. Reboot, it may reboot 3 times.

stock gallery is just dumb laggy,
i'd prefer quickpic just like you.
also i change zeam launcher to launcherpro anyway

um, is there any chance i could get stock browser? apk + odex.
i'd prefer to use stock browser, than download something from the market.

about bug, there is three bug so far..

account and sync:
um.. weird. where's "account and sync" settings?
i can't found it in settings.
i have to did a little trick to go to that settings, via launcherpro "activities shortcut".

bluetooth share:
cannot send/share via bluetooth.. although bluetooth wireless audio streaming works.

auto brightness:
after screen turned off, screen brightness is somehow too dark.
even on automatic brightness.
but, it goes normal after seconds.

but overall, it is amazing.
clean, battery friendly, smooth, fast, gingerblur stock-taste!

You removed many stock features. Using 3rd party apps for them is tedious job. Atleast should have kept the stock bt transfer thing

QuickPic as Blur Gallery Replacement

As you know it,
QuickPic (and some other 3rd party apps) cannot be installed / flashed as a system-app.
But you can make it as pre-installed user-app,
on flashable zip, by this method:

when you are creating flashable zip,
under the folder [/system] create folder named [preinstalled]
and then create 2 folder inside it: [app] and [md5]

copy QuickPic's APK file into [app] folder, and remove the "apk" extension,
leave it withot extension, then rename it to the native application's name.
for QuickPic case, it is [com.alensw.PicFolder]

generate a MD5 code from [com.alensw.PicFolder] file.
open notepad or something, paste it like this:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX preinstall/app/com.alensw.PicFolder
[this is just blank row after enter]

there's two row:
1st is the md5 code, then double space, then location of the app file
2nd is simply an empty row after enter

save that text file, and name it [com.alensw.PicFolder.md5]
then put it into [md5] folder.

And... also this.
The preview image on camera app cannot be clicked when stock gallery is removed.
To integrate Motorola's stock camera and QuickPic, use this APK: http://db.tt/VDiSKqQh
Put it on [/system/app] folder (create it as system app).

That app is a modified version of stock gallery,
it will launch QuickPic when thumbnail in camera app is pressed.
This app cannot be seen on app drawer, and it's small, just 14 KB.

All credit of that modified motorola stock gallery goes to Febernacke

when fritolays back days was creating similiar Bareboned ROM like yours.
Febernacke trying to create a link command between stock camera app and QuickPic.

stuck on recovery

Hello,

I have installed many roms on my previously owned Htc magic and Samsung galaxy S. now, i think i skipped something cause I am stuck at the recovery mode.

I was on stock rom i.e. 2.2.1 on my defy (green lens) before this all happened.

1- I booted into recovery mode by holding volume down and power button.
2- I wiped all data. It said "data wipe completed" but right after it also stated "E: can't mount cache: recovery/log"
3- Afterwards, I wiped cache. showed me "cache wipe completed" with the "can't mount cache: recovery/log" right after it.
4- Rebooted phone.
5- Tried to applied update from sd card but it gives me the error "signature verification failed. Installation aborted" and then gives me 4 error "can't mount cache" with different texts i.e. recovery/log, recovery/command, recovery/caller and recovery/log.

I dont know what to do.... So i will appreciate if i could get any help in this matter.

use custom recovery, not the stock one.
it seems you use the stock recovery.
and make sure you are not on eclair (2.1)

Yup I may include it but it is a barebone rom, so will consider include it in the next version

Battery is good.
performance, speed, are as good as CM7.

but, there's a problem with auto brightness,
that's the most problem i found here.

Have you change the kernel of the rom? it doesn't happen to me (phone hangs and bright button)

Maybe I really need to do it, having another bug, after making a call when I receive the message that shows how much I spent in it, the phone starts ringing like someone was calling me :X

wish to use this rom but i wonder if :
1-is this rom based on Chinese rom that damage the flash led ??
2-why it is not multilingual so everybody can use it ,and if possible the multilang file could be an lang.zip that could be updated through recovery
