Hmm, becoming really desperate. So frustrating to see the rom working on my friends pro2. Even tried to use the RUU from the energy rom, but that didn't help. I can't get what I'm doing wrong. The Energy ROM install flawlessly, and the CELL keeps giving me the error. Hope that the new ROM's will install. Really like this rom after having played with it on my friends phone.

Please give us a step by step break down of what you are doing, where it fails and with what message...

I will see what I can do to sort it out for you.

Hey,

Well so far I've been trying this.

1. I've done an hard reset on my tp, with the standard dutch winmo 6.5 ROM.
2. Already have the EVO 5 rom download, so I unrar it.
3. Hook the tp2 up on my laptop (running vista)
4. Windows Mobile Device center pops up showing there's an connection.
5. I close all apps, other then the CELL ROM folder
6. I double tap the RUU, in the unpacked folder.
7. Vista asks me to give permission to execute the file, I give permission
8. Then for a few seconds I can see other files popping up in the CELL folder.
9. Then the error pops up, which says "Custom RUU werkt niet meer (Dutch for it doesn't work anymore)"
10. Install is canceled.

Besides these steps, what I tried also was.
1. Rebooted my laptop, the try the flashing procedure again.
2. Copied an RUU from an Leo ROM, since those don't give me problems. Didn't work out, still the same problem.
3. Tried the flashing from the desktop of my parents (also running NL vista, and having windows device centre installed). Gave me the same error.

Hope this is enough information about my problem. Thanks again for helping me!

Why do you try flashing with the SD card method...Or you can take the custom RUU from the rom that woked and replace the one that doesnt work and see if it will work.. I always flash using the SD card method as it is easier and safer..

You're welcome for helping you, that's what I'm here for. :)

I can only assume that if you follow the same procedure with NRGz's ROM the process runs correctly also you said you moved NRGz's RUU into the same folder as Sergio's .NBH and got the same result. If this is NOT TRUE tell me!!!!

Let's cover some basics (sorry if I offend):
1. The RUU and .NBH have to be in the same folder
2. There can be only 1 .NBH in that folder

Unfortunately, it is dinner time here on the east coast of the US and it is my turn to make dinner for the family so I don't have any more time right now to help.

If all else fails you can flash from SD, but I really want to understand why this isn't working but does work with NRGz's ROMs.

I will give this some additional while I am cooking and get back with you in a couple hours.

I've heard of people having similar issues if there is a space in the folder name. Try making a new folder, with a short name with no spaces, and put the CustomRUU executable and the .nbh file in it and try.

First off all have a nice diner;). Second, all the things you stated are correct.

Haha. It's ok, you're helping me right;). I'm not easily offended.
1. The RUU and the .nbh are in the same folder.
2. The only .nbh in the folder is the ruu_signed.nbh

If all else fails you can flash from SD, but I really want to understand why this isn't working but does work with NRGz's ROMs.
Haven't thought about this yet, will try it immediatly. I'll keep you posted if it worked.

LOL, ok I'll first try this on, then the microSD flashing option.

I would just wait until the new ROM gets posted tonight. That way you don't have to flash twice.

IT WORKS!!!

Hey guys,

It seemed the folder name was the problem. Apparently the RUU doesn't like "%" in it as well. So i changed it in CELLEVO, and it worked like a charm. Thanks for helping me out.
When the new roms are on the new Thread I'm definetly going to try them!

For now I'm off to bed, since it's pretty late down here in the Netherlands.
Goodnight everybody!
