@Sentinel196 In "Advanced Display" if I choose CyanogenMod Scenario the Modes don't work. With other ROMs instead I can get natural colors selecting CyanogenMod scenario and Natural Mode. Can you fix it please?

[/COLOR]I also have a question about bootanimations... I can't seem to be able to install a custom one because every time I do the animation is replaced by an android logo.... Is there a problem with me or a bug in the RoM?

AFIK what should always work is placing the bootanimation.zip of your choice, named as such, in root/system directory /data/local.

If a bootanimation.zip is present here, it will be read first during boot procedure and override any original system bootanimation, wherever else it's placed.

Occasionally, after placing my own bootanimation.zip in /data/local, I've experienced that booting twice was necessary before 'my' file was run.

When you want the system bootanimation back, all you have to do is delete the one you put in place or just rename that to something other than bootanimation.zip.

Let us know if this works for you. Good luck.

bootanimation.zip goes in in System/Media

True. But still it can be overridden with a second bootanimation.zip file placed in /data/local. Or is this no longer so?

I'm currently on Probam ROM and therefore can't be 100% sure if anything has changed for Sentinel ROM, but when I laat used Sentinel ROM a few months back it was as I describe here. Please confirm, or correct :)

Thanks for the rom- it's been pretty good. Love the 4.4 interface and very snappy.

These have been my issues:
- Browser issues- Always crashes on 'incognito' browsing. Sometimes generally crashes
- ASOP Camera crashes, and phone has to be reset to use the camera.

Is there a fast way to change brightness? The two stage process is a bit annoying for changing brightness on the run...

Camera is a general HAL camera issue accross ROMs. Use this lib here (I use the one named OmniRom, v1.1, but it doesn't matter) while it's not fixed by google or CM developers.

Hi to all,

i've been a fan of SentinelRom from the beginning.

I've an issue with batery drain, my battery doesn't last 16h.

I've reflash the ROM twice, and now i've sentinel rom without any gapps and still have battery drain to fast (and no programs install).
I use gsm 3g a lot and wi-fi.

In the older roms i've tested the same way and battery last 2 days.

Is there a kernel with better performance or what i'm doing wrong?

The camera issue i doens't have.

I had a great rom here but the sound during call was there sometimes and not other times.
It's Apparently a bug in kitkat roms. Will have to wait with 4.3 till voice bug is fixed?

With this rom my battery life is significantly improved compared to other rom. I think this ROM with its kernel (together) is the best compomise between smoothness, performances and battery optimization. With a normal usage (calls, data network, WiFi at home, browser, some game) my battery lasts for 17,30 hours (it means from the morning to the evening). It's acceptable. Try to set "Row I/O scheduler" and "Allow purging of assets" in Performance, use greenify and not use Google now launcher.

Update,

Using the v6.00 rom now since day-one.
Phone was okay.

Changed I/O scheduler to ROW and enabled Purging of assets in Memory management.
Phone got better.

Enabled ART.
Phone got at its best ^_^

Some apps (Pushover, aCar, Camera ZOOM FX, gReader, and so) won't work anymore.
But this is the fault of the apps, since they don't support ART jet.
And WiFi direct isnt working :(

But.....
And I know, there isn't mutch to improve in this rom...

It is so quiet here :-/
No updates, no news.
What's the matter?

Hi mate. Thanks for the feedback.

It's quiet because I'm talking a break from development for a while. I've got lots of other commitments at the moment and I just don't have time to maintain the standard you've come to expect from SentinelROM.

CYANOGENMOD had also come a long way in the past year and so SentinelROM contains a lot less adjustments than it used to. Out of respect for their work I feel they should be getting the additional users and the credit they deserve for their hard work. Therefore my suggestion is that people who love SentinelROM move over to official CM nightlies if they want the latest and greatest.

I hope to be back in the future with some exciting stuff.

Understand the demands of the day job and a normal life. Will look forward to seeing your return in due course, but would really appreciate a quick list of what function we lose/gain by swapping to CM11, even if it's a point in time statement
Thanks!

Thanks for a beautiful ROM. It's neat!

Please check your PayPal account. You may just want to get your wife fresh flowers today

All the best, enjoy the break and CU later, with that new exciting stuff!

This ROM has been built to enhance the CyanogenMod 11 experience, with faster gaming and web browsing performance (no choppyness in Chrome too!) and best of all, extreme battery life.

Countless hours have been spent making tweaks to settings to squeeze the most performance I can find out of this ROM while still providing excellent battery life and without the dangers of overclocking and kernel level tweaking.

I compile this ROM and Kernel from the latest CyanogenMod source code, add my various tweaks and adjustments, then test for stability, so you get all the benefits of CyanogenMod 11, plus my tweaks and extras, all without the instability and inconvenience of flashing CyanogenMod nightlies (which are not designed specifically for the SGS3 like my ROM is.

The kernel source is available from the CyanogenMod's GitHub.

If installing for the first time:

To install this ROM you will need to have an unlocked bootloader and a custom Recovery such as TWRP or ClockWorkMod installed (personally I recommend TWRP, I have had issues with restoring backups using CWM).

    1. Copy the downloaded SentinelROM zip to your Internal Storage.
    2. Boot into your custom recovery
    3. Back up your stock ROM
    4. Enter custom recovery
    5. Factory Reset and wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
    6. Format System Partition
    7. Install the ROM
    8. Install GAPPS package
    9. Reboot. First boot can take up to 5 minutes.

Important: After installation you will be asked if you want to turn on CyanogenMod Statistics, please leave it off as this is an unofficial/modified build.

Note: Use of titanium backup to restore apps and data from another ROM is not recommended, and is the source of 90% of user issues, especially when it comes to battery life. Do so at your own risk.

    titaniumbackup.jpg

You may flash other kernels as you wish via recovery. Remember to also flash the correct libraries for any 3rd party kernels. Instructions will be given by the Kernel author. NOTE: Updating the ROM via OTA will also overwrite any custom Kernels you have installed.
