1. Please re-read > TIPS section @OP
2. Yes it gets laggy, if you change to another theme than default , it becomes smoother , I recommend you the M9 theme !
3. I dunno this , sorry
1. I've done that already. I have no problems with themeing...just that the phone icon (and some others) stays the same irrespective of the theme and everything else DOES get themed. It's most probably just a theme compatibility issue with MIUI v4...since they are GB themes and not ICS.

2. It's not laggy. As soon as I slide the slider for brightness, the dialog disappears. I'm on the M9 theme.

I'll post pictures for both issues soon.

OK, THis dont work:

INSTALLATION

Coming from GB

Copy villamiuiX.zip to your sdcard
Look for and Flash > Chainfire ICS repack
Reboot into recovery [ redpill ]
Flash villamiuiX.zip
Wipe all
Reboot

This also dont work:

INSTALLATION

1.
a) if you're on Gingerbread build: flash Chainfire ICS repack (http://www.mirorii.com/fichier/3/501...EPACK-tar.html)
b) if you're on ICS build: do nothing
2. Upload aospgn02.zip into your sdcard
3. Reboot into recovery
4. Flash aospgn02.zip

I think this works:

INSTALLATION:
If you remove the battery and boot into recovery again and the recovery is redpill then it is the kernell that causes the problem to my knowing. I have not tried this rom so I'm not exactly sure if the package also flashes the ics kernell. If not then just flash Chainfire ICS repack again and then reboot the phone, download chainfire's ics kernell and put it on SD, reboot into recovery and flash Abyss 3.9 ( to get redpill ), reboot recovery and flash villamiuiX.zip once it is done flash Chainfire's ics kernell again and reboot system.

Bute please how to flash Chainfires ICS Kernell again? Per Odin? But only the Kernel? Can anybody tell me how to do this? Thank you.

Exactly like that !

It's Kind of difficult,

I'll investigate to come with an easier method to flash !

What you can do is starting from GB is to install chainfire repack via odin mobile. Once done reboot in recovery and install this rom without using redpill. Seems that when you install chainfire repack through odin mobile that the other ics roms install via normal cwm without hanging. Hope it os of some help

Once you have flashed the rom instead of rebooting system go to install zip from sd again and this time select the kernell you have copied to the sd. Once kernell has been flashed then you select reboot system.

I know that aospgn02.zip does not flash a kernell as it is not included in the package. So if you have used redpill recovery the phone will not boot as it will not have the right kernell.
I have flashed this rom via normal cwm after i have flashed chainfire repack via odin mobile and it flashed perfectly.

Gb
Flash chainfire repack via odin mobile
Reboot phone and let it start completely ( odin boots phone into recovery )
Restart into recovery
Flash your rom
Wipe factory settings cache and dalvik cache
Reboot system

Hope this will help
All thanks to the devs who has worked this all out

ok, but which kernnell? i dont have a kernell from ics chainfire, i just have the complete tar. do i have to put the zimage in a zip file to flash it in cwm?
Use http://download.chainfire.eu/146/CF-Root/SGN/CF-Root-I9220_ZC_OZH_LP1-v5.2-CWM5.zip
But if you are still on GB just do as I explained about 2 or 3 posts back and flash the tar via Odin Mobile.

You can also view this link for installation thanks go to Reborn http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22877518&postcount=182

I really love miui but stability wise, how does this fare compare to like aosp ics or rocket ics?

Remember, I'm not asking about "what's best" I'm asking what's more stable.
