+1. Am waiting for this too. So tempted to unlock the bootloader, but don't want to lose the camera. :(
I unlocked my bootloader the other day, still have a working camera. Was iffy at first but I installed the 534 firmware, rooted using klingo or whatever, installed supersu and checked "survival mode", updated to the 257 OTA, backed up my TA partition, installed dual recovery, unlocked my bootloader, restored my TA partition, then voila, working camera on unlocked bootloader.

then voila you relocked your bootloader when restored TA partition...If you don't believe me try flash AOSP ROM, or CM with unsigned kernel and you will see :)

if you restore TA partition, the bootloader become locked again.

I didn't know that. Unless I didn't read that part somewhere. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Can't you just backup the camera app using TB, unlock the BL, then restore it once it's unlocked or no? I ask cause I'm currently using a ROM that doesn't have Sony's OTA baked in but I made a backup and restored it when I flashed the ROM and it works fine.

No, issue isn't with the camera app, it's much deeper than that :(

I figured. Sorry again for my misunderstanding. I thought for sure that I was still unlocked. I guess I didnt read on about the TA partition. One question, since I did unlock, and I'm relocked again, are the DRM keys or whatever they are still present? Or were they completely lost since I unlocked?

Restoring the TA automatically restores the DRM keys. They're stored inside the TA partition :)

Isn't there any way to dig through the partition and figure out what's causing the problem? This seems like Sony's version of Knox in a way. That's one reason why I ditched the S4.

Its just a bug, it isn't there on purpose. Just wait, the issue will be fixed. Sony is working on a fix.
