Wow.... I guess I read everyng but what I needed....
If I downgrade to the .32 kernel and flash this will I have any problems with data?
Kernel and baseband are different. If you have the new baseband then data won't work on this rom. And if you flash a .32 kernel over this rom, then besides non-working data, you will also get many errors because this rom is on .35.

How do I know which base band I am on then?
I'm sure I'm on the new one..
Is there any way to downgrade the Baseband?

Thanks for the quick reply!
I'm on the aga ROM.
So, if I use that to downgrade my Baseband.....will there be any negative results?
My data will still be fine... Right?
Depends on the ROM. I had problems with old baseband (receiving messages a day later) but thats proably just me...

New is always better, but its easier for the devs to remain on old baseband.

So you can downgrade baseband and flash my ROM. you can flash my ROM now also, just to test without data.

Hey mdroid, what bugs are you facing in this ROM, except the blackscreen and bluetooth headset ?? I'm asking this because I was facing a bug(random reboots) when try to restore/install apps in oxygen 2.1 ....

[-] Oxygen bugs: No BT, Blackscreen on static wallpaper

hmmm... strange! but I still use Oxygen 2.0b for my ROM :)

Hi,

What is the difference between old and new basebands?

what is the benefit of the new over the old?

where can i find the new baseband, and how do i know if a rom is compatible with the new baseband?

thanks

New baseband has better GSM Signal and 3G stability. Stock Gingerbread based ROM's like AGA and OpenOptimus are usually the ones with new baseband support.
A port for CyanogenMod 7.2 is now available with full support for the new baseband as well.
Nitrogen however has almost full support because data is not working just yet.
All other ROM's not mentioned here are for old baseband.

If you are coming from stock LG 2.3.3 then you already have new baseband installed, so there is no need to flash it.
Otherwise to flash new baseband (or old baseband) you can follow the tutorial below.
You can easily switch from old to new and vice-versa as long as you do everything right.
New baseband is labeled as v20g and old baseband as v10e.
