I don't use this ROM - I use a stock rooted ROM I debloated myself and no issues with Hangouts syncing. You should look at the thread/post where Phone Manager was debloated from a ROM and instructions to add it back as that may possibly be relevant here - see link below.

My first issue is continuing to be a major problem though. Gmail / Groupchat/Hangouts never/rarely sync/update. E.g I was sent a hangout message last night that I never got on my phone and only saw it on my laptop this morning. Fiddled around to make sure everything is set to sync but don't see anything wrong.

Well I successfully added phone manager back but I've gone through all the options and see nothing that would cause gmail / hangouts to not receive push notifications. I swear I once read something about blocking a google service wakelock was causing this issue but I can't recall - not I've not done any wakelock stuff, rom is unmodified from nexus xt except a few apps and magisk v12

Try uninstalling/reinstalling those two apps. Disable any power saving apps you may have installed.

Done and done, no effect. I've checked pretty much every possible notification/battery/etc settings, followed every workaround I've read about online with hangouts not getting notifications, still nothing works. It's so strange...

edit: I've given up on this after getting another rom to work. Still no idea what caused my issue, maybe a bad rom install since I was using an old twrp??

Not having Netflix working was a big deal for me. They do offer help. I installed their offline apk and rebooted the device, and now it works.

Fwiw, after two months trying to get this rom to work stably, patching back in both the phone manager and usage manager apps; investigating wakelocks, gms pushes, and sync settings.. I just can't get it to work reliably. Most apps don't receive pushes and general stability is abysmal.

I've been using a different rom for a few weeks without any of these problems, leading me to believe that this rom is missing some very necessary system files. As such, use at your own risk..

Help Me Understand Please

I recently flashed this to my phone and shortly afterward, my phone icon is no longer visible. Its not in my app tray or anywhere...I can find it in the system apps, but it is no longer at the bottom of my phone screen...

Hmm I had thought I was updated and that was just the lastest OTA update. Sadly I think it's just done anyway... I tried to flash the Bare Naked build and had the same issue. Then I tried to restore my previous software,TWRP froze and now I can't even Fastboot to recovery. Unless I can find a method to do stock recovery I'm not sure what to do... Huawei doesn't list the H1611 on their site! I guess that's the risk of doing all this!

Take the boot.img in the zip and flash it you don't need to wipe anything in the process I had the same problem

This rom, as well as most of clsa's, is broken beyond repair. Certain elements have been removed, causing it to not function on a level that makes it useless as a communication device. Push notifications don't work and battery optimization is broken. Once more, clsa has not answered to any of these concerns and hasn't stood by the work he has released.

As such, do not download this rom unless you fully understand the implications - simply, it doesn't work and there is no support. Really, just stay away. If these forums had active moderation, I'd have requested a disclaimer been added to the OP.
