Its not as easy as uninstalling other apps cuz this is in /system/app/

try this if u have adb setup

adb shell rm /system/app/*Maps*
adb shell rm /data/dalvik-cache/*Maps*
adb shell rm /data/data/*Maps*

and then reboot into recovery, n choose fix uid mismatches

Then try installing from market. Let us know how that goes.

I tried that, but all i got at the uninstall command ist: Failure.

Cant install Maps from Market. :(

This worked for me. I had the same problem.
I tried all those adb commands, but, as you can see, just the first and the las 2 worked:

After this, I was able to install Maps from Market.

Back on best rom now that perfect SPL got cracked!

BTW is it possible that 2.1 android multitouch apps like gameboid 1.7.9 will work with this rom? Did you get your multitouch ported from 2.1?

I've been using CursorSense, and it's been ok, but wanted to try a 1.6 rom. I found this one, but flashing it causes looping, I believe since I had to upgrade the radio and the loader. Can anyone tell me which loader and radio I should flash back to?

I think that's what I have to do anyways. :)

SIM toolkit notification icon seems wrong

I've got a funny issue with this version of Amon RA:s ROM. It's the SIM notification toolkit icon. First of all, it looks wrong. The design and image is that of a volume/slider handle. And it's only this icon that's showing up wrong.

Other than that I'm confused as to why it shows up at all. I can't get rid of it, it just sits there in the notification bar and when I try to look at the notifications there's nothing there, apart from the regular "Telenor SE" and other info about my provider. Pressing "Clear" doesn't get rid of the icon in the notification bar.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Is there ANY possible way to get OC for this or JIT enabled? Its a cool ROM, but JIT and OC would make it even more cool :)

what if you don't have adb access? I installed my new roms but i have no idea how adb works and the only issue i have is the older version of google maps that won't update.

just wanted to drop by and see how far this rom has come since i dled it all those months ago. Seems it was perfect to begin with so not much has changed. that's good, i've been using this for months now and haven't been able to find any other rom neither as stable nor fast as this one. :) good freaking job dev.

If you ask me I would say that this ROM needs no more updates... Its as stable as 1.6 gets and as fast as 1.6 can be on Magics processor...

Only thing would be Overclock, but some people already figured out to flash CM's OC mod for 32a on top of your ROM... (only bad thing about this is that it replaces your splendid kernel)

Anyway thanks for making the best ROM for 32a... No matter what ROMs I flash on my phone I always return to this after a couple of hours, days or a week...

1. Will this work on the Dream (G1)?
No - I have no plans to support it.

2. I get errors while applying the update?!
ALWAYS check the md5sum to make sure the zip isn't corrupted.

3. I get "Verification failed" when applying the update.
Use a custom recovery with test-keys to apply the update.

4. Do I have to wipe?
Yes - I advise everyone to wipe to avoid issues.
If you're upgrading from a previous RAv1.6.x-ROM a wipe is not mandatory. If weird things happen, try wiping anyway before reporting issues.

5. I can't get adb/fastboot to work on my windows/mac/linux/hackingtosh?!
This question is not related to this ROM, please post your question in the general section so people can help you.

6. Battery life really sucks on this ROM.
Try scaling the CPU speed down manually.

7. Could you please release a new version with different CPU speed settings?
No - download a cpu-speed setting app and configure it yourself.

8. Application x is not working on your ROM!
Check if that application is Donut compliant.

9. Will you include more languages?
No

10. How do I change the HTC_IME language?
Check out this awesome blog : http://ostebaronen.dk/?p=190. If the keyboard doesn't change your language is probably not implemented.

11. I want the LatinIME keyboard back!
Grab it from a Donut ROM and push it to /system/app.

12. Will you include HTC exchange support?
No - I don't want to implement the HTC framework.

13. Will you release a lite-version of this ROM?
No - You can manually remove the apps you don't need from /system/app.

14. I can't install the media pack!
It's a normal zip file, just unzip it to the root of your SD-card.

15. Where can I find theme's for this ROM?

16. Does this ROM support Apps-to-sd, Compcache, Multi-touch, ...?
If it's not mentioned in the "supported features section" it's probably not supported ;)

    Thanks for the update! I know I've asked once, but are you planning to include the CRC1 (OTA update) fixes?

    Also, is there anyway to change how the phone numbers display on my phone? I'm not used to having the dashes after every 3 numbers :(.

    cytown has released a modified Phone.apk that will vibrate the phone when someone has answered your call. I've loaded it and it's working well so far. The link:

    So far everything works fine but the camera - can't get it to save. I'm also missing quite a few apps that unbeknown to me where 2.x only :( - zeam launcher and ray dialer mainly.

    edit 2] bluetooth's a bit wonky. will not switch off immediately if at all.

    ezterry's ram hack takes from camera, so for the camera to work, you will need to use the 1m pixel setting.
