Hi there!
The problem is that you are using the wrong SPL. You need a 6.35 radio and a 1.76 SPL. Just change that and you have your problem solved. :)

Note: 6.35 Radio ALWAYS requires 1.76 SPL. 3.22 Radio ALWAYS requires 1.33 SPL. If you mix them the phone won't boot.

I'm sorry, I really wrote down the wrong numbers.
If I were using the wrong SPL/Radio combo, I wouldn't be able to run the other ROM I'm running now - Magic Fusion.

My SPL is 1.76.2007
Radio is 6.35.16.19

As I said, it was flashed automatically with the Radio Switcher.
I'm using Amon Ra's Sapphire-1.6.2h though. May that be the problem?

Multiple Issues: Swype/Keyboard + JIT+ FC + Slowdown

Whenever i restart the phone, the swype keyboard, which normally works fine also shows up but doesnt let me swype at all. I need to change input to standard keyboard and revert back to swype and it works fine till the next restart.

Any suggestions??

Am using the X.2 update, had several FC's but seems to have stabilised now, however the battery drain is still there and sometimes runs slow. Can i enable JIT V9 on this or not?? I'm slightly confused since what i have read in the forum so far mentions about JIT only for prior versions like .6 and .8 etc.

Am using advanced task killer free to autokill some of my apps, and keeps my phone memory free, without Apps2sd. Should i move to SD for the apps, tried the first time i flashed the rom, got a lot of FC's and slowdowns, therefore reverted back to phone memory, found out that i got those anyway.. however they stabilized with time. So if i partition another SD card with ext2/3 and copy my data do i need to reflash the rom or just restart and the work would be done??

Flashed JIT anyways.. got some FC's and phone is running slower than before, will hang on for a day, else disable JIT.

Have installed an update from Swype, which should hopefully address the issue faced earlier. Will check and update later.. phone running too slow now and is rebooting.

Hi I'm using this rom and it seems fantastic.
But I don't know how I can use app2sd.

I've been looking for a app2sd patch but in 500 pages I just simply can't find it.
Can you help me on this one?

How can I install app2sd and make it work in this rom. I've just used the files available in page one. One of them makes it's own partition (I think).

So do I have to make another partition? Is it doable since I've got everything already working?

app2sd will work if you partition your sd card in recovery.

Does anyone have issues with youtube videos? I am using Smoki_X2 right now but videos are not opening at all, in 7.7 they where working fine

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask, but didnt find anybody else with the same problem on xda.

Barnacle Wifi/ WIfi tether works on the Ipad but not on my win7 desktop.

I get good speeds on my ipad tethered to my phone. The win7 machine detects and connects to the network, however there is no data transfer that happens. I even disabled the firewall to check if that was the issue, but it wasnt.

Any ideas?

Anyone here got an OTA update notice? If so, how do I install it? Cuz every time when I tried to install the update, it boots into recovery, but it wouldn't load the update (I'm assuming it's because it's a custom recovery and rom)

Hi,

I'm about to flash your ROM and have some questions:

1) Can I use some OC kernels with your ROM?
2) To flash another ROM I need to follow the procedure on 1st post or can I just do a full wipe and flash the other ROM?
3) I read the camera resolution for videos is VGA (640x480). And the fps of recorded videos?

Finally: The link for AmonRA 1.6.2 recovery patched by cursordroid is broken.

How does this ROM compare to the newer ones? Is this any faster than the froyo and ginger type ROMs?

I'm just asking because i'm passing the Magic on to my gf so i want it to "just work" and be smooth and fast.

Hello to everyone. I found OTA update file on my sd card in 'download' directory, moved it to root directory and tried patching it via Recovery. Update failed because signature of the file doesn't match with system (as I understood).
So, the only way is to implement OTA update into Smoki zip file manualy.

IT hasn't been updated in a long time but the latest version still works well - and since you have new radio (and the good 6.35.16.19 one) you should be good to go ;)

When compared to SFM 3.0.2 this one might be faster and use a bit less battery, but if you want all the goodies from newest Sense... Anyways, I used Smoki ROMs as my daily drivers for over half a year which is LONG with Android ROMs :D

But since SFM is more up-to-date with security stuff too, I'd recommend it over this one - and since you're already using it you might want to make a full nand backup and try Smoki, just for fun!

    HOW TO INSTALL
    * If you had signal loss problems with previous builds, make sure you follow the steps from 1 to 9 , the rest of you can also do this as it will bring you to the latest radio, but you do not have to. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO INSTALL THE NEW RADIO PROCEED TO READ FROM STEP 9(including this step)
    1)If upgrading from some other 6.35 radio, make sure you have 1.76.2007 engineering SPL installed
    2)Make sure you have fastboot working
    3)Download the radio.img file from HERE
    4)Place the radio.img file in the folder where your fastboot is located(usually tools folder)
    5)Connect your phone to pc using USB
    6)Reboot the phone to bootloader(fastboot)
    -You can do this by typing "adb reboot bootloader" in terminal
    -You can do this by shutting the phone down completely and then boot it up by holding the POWER button and BACK button at the same time
    7)Type in terminal console or command prompt console
    Code: 
    fastboot flash radio radio.img
    8)Now type
    Code: 
    fastboot reboot-bootloader
    and make sure you now have radio 6.35.16.19
    9)Extract the already downloaded EXTRACT ME FINAL SMOKI X zip and place both newly extracted files onto the root of your sdcard fat32 partition(files have names Smoki_X.zip and Partition_layout_fixed.zip)
    10)Reboot the phone to recovery.
    11)Wipe data
    12)Flash Partition_layout_Fixed.zip and wait for it to reboot back into recovery
    13)Flash Smoki_X.zip
    14)Flash Smoki_X.1.zip
    15)Reboot the phone and wait for the setupwizard to appear
    16)IF YOU GET FC ON FIRST BOOT BEFORE SETUPWIZARD(it's mostly FCing because of com.android.settings), REMOVE THE SIMCARD AND FINISH THE SETUPWIZARD LIKE YOU WOULD NORMALLY DO, LET THE SENSEUI LOAD AND PUT THE SIMCARD BACK
    17)After you've passed setup wizard and after senseui has loaded, install whatever the apps you want from the market and do a REBOOT or else there are BIG chances you'll have sense reloading by itself for no reason on returning to homescreen
    18)Double check to make sure you did a reboot like I told you in the step above
    19)Go get me some Heineken
    20)AAAAAAND yo're done :)


    HOW TO REVERT PARTITIONING BACK TO STOCK
    Partitioning reverts back in two occasions
    *First one being getting back on old radio and thus flashing different radio, spl, recovery and erasing system
    *Second being a manual one and includes staying with this radio and spl.
    TO REVERT BACK AND STAY WITH THE NEW RADIO FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING STEPS
    1)Download AmonRA 1.6.2 recovery patched by cursordroid from > HERE
    2)Make sure you have fastboot working
    3)Place the recovery image downloaded from the above link into the folder with fastboot (usually the tools folder) and rename it(basically just shorten the name) to recovery.img
    4)Reboot the phone into the bootloader(fastboot)
    5)Type from terminal or command prompt
    Code: 
    fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase userdata -w
fastboot erase cache -w
    6)Reboot into recovery
    7)Flash whatever the rom you like(except smoki from 0.7.7 and up that needs partition layout)
    8)Get me a double cheeseburger from Mcdonalds

    -Fixed slowdowns and lags and stuttering
    -Better memory management
    -Fixed low mic volume(thx cypis for testing)
    -Fixed low memory on downloading bigger apps from market.

    -Changed kernel to official htc 2.6.29
    -Because of the above, no more need for charging fix
    -Because of the above, max freq is 528Mhz
    -No more compcache because no kernel source available
    -Tweaked settings, so we have multitasking available(it's not like on previous builds because compcache is lacking, but in comparison with rogers official rom, it's got more chances to allow more apps to run)
    -Changed bootanimation
    -All of you who met with already enabled data networks on first boot(3G, 2G, doesn't matter) will have enhanced GPS lock
    -I'm guessing there's more to it, but I'm going to sleep and I don't have the will to think anymore...when I try to think about it, I DO BELIEVE that there is more to it, but that's where my thinking stops
