[ROM][4.0.4] Slim ICS(I9000) - Clean, Simple & Fast (54MB)

Hi Guys
need advise on this ROM please.
currently am using CM 4.2.2 stable ROM on my I9000 while it works without crashes or anything BUT its laggy and frustrating slow when you use multiple apps.

I read somewhere this is the best rom for this device . what you are experiences ? is it worth the downgrade ? any advise greatly appreciated.

It's definitely faster and smoother. Im glad I downgraded. Battery is better as well.
Had a few pb, mainly with bluetooth, but like 3 in 2 months so that's okay I guess

definitely faster and runs a looong time without the necessity of rebooting. But 4.4 is out with 60% less RAM usage. We'll see.

one other question, i tried installing this ROM but phone stuck at slim bean logo !! i waited like 10 mins but nothing happened. finally had to restore from nandroid.

any suggestions ? BTW my recovery CWM 6.0.3. is this recovery problem ? do i need update recovery ? if so can you link me to it please ?

I originally rooted using cf-root method using this guide guide if that matters.

Thanks, finally thats what i ended up doing. i had to format "system" too for new ROMs take place otherwise i was stuck in bootloop.

I am using Slim 4.3 at the moment. I don't like it.
Even though there are options to enlarge the text size they don't seem to work. Does that now work in this version ? Maybe its the font thats not to my liking.

I also had lots of problems with getting any GPS lock, has this been fixed ?

AFAIK I had to change the DPI setting because it was set really low and all text was really tiny.
Don't change the font size, change the DPI!

Hahaha, yes, there are quite a lot of Slim threads.
One is called SlimICS and is based on ICS (Android v4.0) and the others are called SlimBean which are based on JellyBean (Android v4.1, v4.2, v4.3).
I have no idea what you're running.
(It shows when you go into Settings-->About Phone (last setting)).

I often have problems with usb mass storage. I sometimes don't get the notification (to enable usb storage) at all, sometimes I get it but it doesnt do anything, and I have to enable and disable usb debugging...
Am I the only one facing that pb ?
