* [U][B]About INSTALL AROMA (2.56)[/B][/U]:
"AROMA" was taken from Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language) and it means "Aroma",
but it is also an abbreviation of "AMARULLZ ANDROID ROM EVENT".
This is an advanced binary update for Android that contains many features such as the installation wizard,

or that of Helly. If you do not want to slim Helly, I advise you therefore have the backup,
To choose "Helly Bean - Normal Helly Bean" in "Slim or Normal Helly Bean", at least once,
otherwise you could never make one of those three above!

* [U][B]Several choices Modified[/B][/U] :

reinstall it if you change a few things related to your old backup,
even when This is an application that is updated and you want to keep it without having to reinstall the old one.

If you do not want to slim AOKP, I advise you therefore have the backup, To choose "AOKP - Normal AOKP" in "Slim or Normal AOKP", at least once, otherwise you could never make one of those three above!

* Several choices Modified :
Three menus:
  • Everything
  • The multiple choice menus
  • Single choice menus
This avoids to go through a menu or do you have to do nothing in it. The backup will be made only on the selected part.

* Multiple installation menus as possible:
Seven menus:
  • By default
  • Customize with the choices of what you would like
  • Modify to change also with what we would like of course
  • Franzyroy's Config - with my personal configuration
  • System update
  • System apps - Only the modification of system apps
  • Debug section - Gives the base system if you have problems

* A debug section:
Section for resolving issues with several dining options in case of problems.

* Features menu "Modify me!":
When selecting the menu "Modify me" if you chose to restore your menu choice unique, reinstall it if you change a few things related to your old backup, even when This is an application that is updated and you want to keep it without having to reinstall the old one. In case you want to reinstall anyway for many reasons (eg application no longer working, etc ...), you'll just have to choose not to restore it can be reinstalled. Only available in the menu "Modify Me" as unnecessary in a full installation.

* The more Aroma:
Aroma Installer allows you to install anything to your liking with a huge selection.

* Multilingual:
Multiple language facilities.

* Customization of Aroma:
Several themes for the installation menu.

* Possibility to choose between a normal AOKP or a Slim AOKP:
Delete some system applications following your choices.

How I compiled aokp and baked rom
Code:
                         ______  _____   __  __   _____
                        /\  _  \/\  __`\/\ \/\ \ /\  _ `\

                          \ \ \/\ \ \ \_\ \ \ \\`\ \ \ \/
                           \ \_\ \_\ \_____\ \_\ \_\\ \_\
                            \/_/\/_/\/_____/\/_/\/_/ \/_/

===============================-Package complete-===============================

=================================- by Franzyroy-================================

Prerequisite for all builds:
Based on the tutorial of 'How build CM1O.1'

STEP 1 :
Open a terminal and install the Ubuntu packages:
Code:
sudo apt-get install git-core gnupg flex bison python rar original-awk gawk p7zip-full gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.8-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev pngcrush schedtool
sudo apt-get install libc6-dev x11proto-core-dev libx11-dev libgl1-mesa-dev mingw32 tofrodos python-markdown libxml2-utils
sudo apt-get install g++-multilib lib32z1-dev ia32-libs lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline-gplv2-dev gcc-multilib g++-multilib xsltproc
STEP 2:
Install OpenJDK 6:
Code:
sudo apt-get install openjdk-6-jdk
STEP 3:
Install the Android SDK:

-Set up directories:
Code:
cd ~
mkdir android
cd android
mkdir sdk
-Download Android SDK from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html

-extract it to: ~/android/sdk

-Add Android SDK Path:
Code:
sudo gedit ~/.bashrc
Enter the following:
Code:
#Android PATH
export PATH=$PATH:~/android/sdk
export PATH=$PATH:~/android/sdk/platform-tools
export PATH=$PATH:~/android/sdk/tools
-Add Extra Path For USB:
Code:
sudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/99-android.rules
Enter this:
Code:
#Samsung
SUBSYSTEM==usb, SYSFS{idVendor}==04e8, MODE=0666

SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="####:####", SYMLINK+="android_adb", MODE="0666" GROUP="plugdev"
TEST=="/var/run/ConsoleKit/database", \
RUN+="udev-acl --action=$env{action} --device=$env{DEVNAME}"
-Save and close the file and run:
Code:
sudo chmod +x /etc/udev/rules.d/99-android.rules
-Close and open a new terminal
Code:
android
-install the SDK platform tools

STEP 4:
Installing the repo

-Download the repo:
Code:
mkdir -p ~/bin
mkdir -p ~/android/[COLOR="red"]AOKP[/COLOR]
curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
-Add Repo to path:
Code:
sudo gedit ~/.bashrc
enter this:
Code:
export PATH=$PATH:~/bin
-Add Toolchain path:
Code:
sudo gedit ~/.bashrc
enter this:
Code:
#Android Toolchain PATH
export ARCH=arm
export CCOMPILE=$CROSS_COMPILE
export CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi-
export PATH=$PATH:/home/YOUR-USERNAME/android/[COLOR="Red"]AOKP[/COLOR]/prebuilt/linux-x86/toolchain/arm-eabi-4.4.3/bin
What is in red, it is your folder of destination, in this case, it is AOkP.

**********************************

Building of AOKP (4.2.2):
* Based on the tutorial of Malcho
Create separate folder (for example AOKP).
I've already 'android' folder since that i compiled CM1O.1 therefore I make (AOKP folder is perhaps already created with a command above, therefore maybe no need to do 'mkdir AOKP'):
Code:
cd ~/android/
mkdir AOKP
cd AOKP
in that folder.
Type this to Initialize Repository & Sync:
Code:
repo init -u https://github.com/AOKP/platform_manifest.git -b jb-mr1
repo sync
Download these 3 files (local_manifest.xml, galaxysmtd.mk and folder aries-common) from here http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/malcho/AOKP%20Beast/ (thanks to Malcho)

- Local_manifest.xml goes to .repo folder(you have to enable Show hidden files and folders with ctrl + H for example).
- galaxysmtd.mk file goes to vendor/aokp/products
- aries-common folder goes to vendor/aokp/overlay

In folder vendor/aokp/products add this line below to AndroidProducts.mk file.

Code:
$(LOCAL_DIR)/galaxysmtd.mk
In folder vendor/aokp add this line below to vendorsetup.sh file.

Code:
add_lunch_combo aokp_galaxysmtd-userdebug
After, in /home/android/AOKP
make
Code:
repo sync
. build/envsetup.sh
-Connect Phone to computer and type:
Code:
adb root
cd ~/android/AOKP/device/samsung/galaxysmtd/
./extract-files.sh
and:
Code:
./setup-makefiles.sh
Go to the folder and:
Code:
cd ~/android/AOKP/
lunch
choose galaxysmtd

Always in /home/android/AOKP
make
Code:
make bacon
ROM will be in folder /out/target/product/galaxysmtd

**********************************

Building of BAKED (4.2.2):
Code:
cd ~/android
mkdir BAKED
cd BAKED
repo init -u https://github.com/TeamBAKED/platform_manifest.git -b jb-4.2
repo sync
. build/envsetup.sh && lunch baked_galaxysmtd-userdebug && mka bacon

ROM will be in folder /out/target/product/galaxysmtd

I understand! Only with a friend, we have already try to built a rom, we have asked help for that, but no one want help us, i did this Rom.zip for persons who need just a little help. Sorry!

No problem! If you really want to build a ROM, you need some background before, maybe that's what fails in your case. You need to know how Android works, and for that you need to develop Android apps before, and that means you know at least how to develop in Java flawlessly. Then, try to build the ROM from sources, and start solving the problems you will find. This was my case, I started developing for Android about 18 months ago: I developed some apps, then I built a kernel, then I decided to build a ROM, and it took a lot of hours :)

But I encourage you to try it, you'll learn a lot and, who knows, maybe it's useful for you in the future :) But remember, start from the basics: developing apps.

Best regards and good luck.

I understand el_navajita general point (especially these days),i'm not coming to debate on this but just wanted to say that Franzyroy is not really the easy-cooker profile too,at least he knows well the decompiling process not only the zip opening ;) (for instance back on gingerbread he's been able to merge differents features of edt tweaks and another system parts I don't remember that were two differents ways for 9 lockscreens+config etc...even if he wasn't the creator,it was respectively Romanbb and Dagr8 if i remember well).
I just want to somehow equilibrate the impression that one could have reading the last posts.
For instance we can see nexus ports here and there that is just about opening zip/errors and trials and those Devs mostly receive "wow,great work!" than lessons :)

But beware, this also means that we must pay attention to any changes you can make! Handle with care.
* Several restoring options: Four menus: Everything - the multiple choice menus - single choice menus - nothing.If you have no backup, you'll get a message asking you to make another choice, the choice of restore is also one of the backup, does not affect that of another menu that will not be charged to your request .
* Several choices Modified :Three menus: Everything - the multiple choice menus - single choice menus.This avoids to go through a menu or do you have to do anything in it. The backup will be made only on the selected part.
* Multiple installation menus as possible: Four menus: By default, customize with your choice of what you will, Modify to change also with what we want of course and another (Franzyroy's Config) with my personal configuration.
* A debug section: Section for resolving issues with several dining options in case of problems.
* Features menu "Modify me!": When selecting the menu "Modify me" if you chose to restore your menu choice unique, reinstall it if you change a few things related to your old backup, even when This is an application that is updated and you want to keep it without having to reinstall the old one. In case you want to reinstall anyway for many reasons (eg application no longer working, etc ...), you'll just have to choose not to restore it can be reinstalled. Only available in the menu "Modify Me" as unnecessary in a full installation.
* The more Aroma: Aroma Installer allows you to install anything to your liking with a huge selection.

I agree with you about those nexus ports...
The point is that in those works there isn't any development involved, and this forum is called "Android Development", they're really mods, and I think that development thread should be limited to development work.

There is another reason why I don't support those kinds of work. The case of "just WinZip roms" and "Winzip and decompile roms" is, really, the same, and I'll explain the reason. The fact is that in both cases, the author rarely knows what's he really doing. It's typically a work of "unzip,copy,paste,zip" or, in the best case "unzip,dex2jar,copy,paste,dex,zip". That's a kind of a LEGO approach... let's try this, let's see what happens... it works! why? I don't know, but it works, so better don't look further... So, in a lot of cases, specially in the last times, I'm watching people who just take CM9 or take AOKP, unzip, add some files, ZIP, release it and ask for donations... Some of them at least give credits to the authors, and fortunately that's the case of this ROM, so I have nothing to say about it... I don't agree with this approach but I won't post anything else about my opinion.

So, finally, thank your for your opinion. I wish the best for Franzyroy, and I hope that he and his friend enjoy this and I encourage them to experiment and deepen their knowledge on Android because it's worth and I'm sure they'll enjoy it.

Best regards and sorry for the off-topic.

P.S: You said you asked for help but didn't find it. If you need it feel free to ask me, and I will help you if I can.

    * [U][B]About INSTALL AROMA (2.56)[/B][/U]:
    "AROMA" was taken from Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language) and it means "Aroma",
    but it is also an abbreviation of "AMARULLZ ANDROID ROM EVENT".
    This is an advanced binary update for Android that contains many features such as the installation wizard,
    the user touch interface (AROMA UI), customizable packages, Inspection System, with themes,
    and the interactive user, all in recovery. All versions will output the names of flowers
    .Date updated: Install Latest Version of Aroma of 25/04/12!

    * [U][B]Integration of Aroma File Manager in Aroma Installer (1.80)[/B][/U]:
    Touch file explorer in recovery. The browser lets you do whatever you want with the ability to change
    the most unexpected thing when you do the phone on ....
    But beware, this also means that we must pay attention to any changes you can make! Handle with care.

    Like the terminal that you use in your rom.

    *[B][U] Automatic restoration and manual backups[/U][/B]:
    [U]Restoration[/U]:
    Now your backups are restored automatically. Backups will be restored only if they exist, of course!
    [U]Backup[/U]:
    Backups, meanwhile, remain in manual mode. However, I advise you to do them all,
    otherwise there will be some menus that you can not do. Like:
    [LIST]
    [*]3) Modify
    [*]5) System update
    [*]6) System apps
    [/LIST]
    For the "3" and "5", you should make all backups. For the "6", you just need to have the backup slim Helly,
    or that of Helly. If you do not want to slim Helly, I advise you therefore have the backup,
    To choose "Helly Bean - Normal Helly Bean" in "Slim or Normal Helly Bean", at least once,
    otherwise you could never make one of those three above!

    * [U][B]Several choices Modified[/B][/U] :
    [U]Three menus[/U]:
    [LIST]
    [*]Everything
    [*]The multiple choice menus
    [*]Single choice menus
    [/LIST]
    This avoids to go through a menu or do you have to do nothing in it. The backup will be made only on the selected part.

    * [U][B]Multiple installation menus as possible[/B][/U]:
    [U]Seven menus[/U]:
    [LIST]
    [*]By default
    [*]Customize with the choices of what you would like
    [*]Modify to change also with what we would like of course
    [*]Franzyroy's Config - with my personal configuration
    [*]System update
    [*]System apps - Only the modification of system apps
    [*]Debug section - Gives the base system if you have problems
    [/LIST]

    * [U][B]A debug section[/B][/U]:
    Section for resolving issues with several dining options in case of problems.

    * [B][U]Features menu "Modify me!"[/U][/B]:
    When selecting the menu "Modify me" if you chose to restore your menu choice unique,
    reinstall it if you change a few things related to your old backup,
    even when This is an application that is updated and you want to keep it without having to reinstall the old one.
    In case you want to reinstall anyway for many reasons (eg application no longer working, etc ...),
    you'll just have to choose not to restore it can be reinstalled.
    Only available in the menu "Modify Me" as unnecessary in a full installation.

    * [U][B]The more Aroma[/B][/U]:
    Aroma Installer allows you to install anything to your liking with a huge selection.

    Aroma content:

    * About INSTALL AROMA (2.56):
    "AROMA" was taken from Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language) and it means "Aroma", but it is also an abbreviation of "AMARULLZ ANDROID ROM EVENT". This is an advanced binary update for Android that contains many features such as the installation wizard, the user touch interface (AROMA UI), customizable packages, Inspection System, with themes, and the interactive user, all in recovery. All versions will output the names of flowers
    .Date updated: Install Latest Version of Aroma of 25/04/12!

    * Integration of Aroma File Manager in Aroma Installer (1.80):
    Touch file explorer in recovery. The browser lets you do whatever you want with the ability to change the most unexpected thing when you do the phone on .... But beware, this also means that we must pay attention to any changes you can make! Handle with care.

    * Terminal emulator integrated in Aroma file manager:
    Like the terminal that you use in your rom.

    * Automatic restoration and manual backups:
    Restoration:
    Now your backups are restored automatically. Backups will be restored only if they exist, of course!
    Backup:
    Backups, meanwhile, remain in manual mode. However, I advise you to do them all, otherwise there will be some menus that you can not do. Like:
    • 3) Modify
    • 5) System update
    • 6) System apps
    For the "3" and "5", you should make all backups. For the "6", you just need to have the backup slim AOKP, or that of AOKP. If you do not want to slim AOKP, I advise you therefore have the backup, To choose "AOKP - Normal AOKP" in "Slim or Normal AOKP", at least once, otherwise you could never make one of those three above!

    * Several choices Modified :

    * A debug section:
    Section for resolving issues with several dining options in case of problems.

    * Features menu "Modify me!":

    * The more Aroma:

    ===============================-Package complete-===============================

    =================================- by Franzyroy-================================

    Prerequisite for all builds:
    Based on the tutorial of 'How build CM1O.1'

    STEP 1 :
    Open a terminal and install the Ubuntu packages:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install git-core gnupg flex bison python rar original-awk gawk p7zip-full gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.8-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev pngcrush schedtool
    sudo apt-get install libc6-dev x11proto-core-dev libx11-dev libgl1-mesa-dev mingw32 tofrodos python-markdown libxml2-utils
    sudo apt-get install g++-multilib lib32z1-dev ia32-libs lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline-gplv2-dev gcc-multilib g++-multilib xsltproc
    STEP 2:
    Install OpenJDK 6:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install openjdk-6-jdk
    STEP 3:
    Install the Android SDK:

    -Set up directories:
    Code:
    cd ~
    mkdir android
    cd android
    mkdir sdk
    -Download Android SDK from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html

    -extract it to: ~/android/sdk

    -Add Android SDK Path:
    Code:
    sudo gedit ~/.bashrc
    Enter the following:
    Code:
    #Android PATH
    export PATH=$PATH:~/android/sdk
    export PATH=$PATH:~/android/sdk/platform-tools
    export PATH=$PATH:~/android/sdk/tools
    -Add Extra Path For USB:
    Code:
    sudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/99-android.rules
    Enter this:
    Code:
    #Samsung
    SUBSYSTEM==usb, SYSFS{idVendor}==04e8, MODE=0666

    SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="####:####", SYMLINK+="android_adb", MODE="0666" GROUP="plugdev"
    TEST=="/var/run/ConsoleKit/database", \
    RUN+="udev-acl --action=$env{action} --device=$env{DEVNAME}"
    -Save and close the file and run:
    Code:
    sudo chmod +x /etc/udev/rules.d/99-android.rules
    -Close and open a new terminal
    Code:
    android
    -install the SDK platform tools

    STEP 4:
    Installing the repo

    -Download the repo:
    Code:
    mkdir -p ~/bin
    mkdir -p ~/android/[COLOR="red"]AOKP[/COLOR]
    curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
    chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
    -Add Repo to path:
    Code:
    sudo gedit ~/.bashrc
    enter this:
    Code:
    export PATH=$PATH:~/bin
    -Add Toolchain path:
    Code:
    sudo gedit ~/.bashrc
    enter this:
    Code:
    #Android Toolchain PATH
    export ARCH=arm
    export CCOMPILE=$CROSS_COMPILE
    export CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi-
    export PATH=$PATH:/home/YOUR-USERNAME/android/[COLOR="Red"]AOKP[/COLOR]/prebuilt/linux-x86/toolchain/arm-eabi-4.4.3/bin
    What is in red, it is your folder of destination, in this case, it is AOkP.

    **********************************

    Building of AOKP (4.2.2):
    * Based on the tutorial of Malcho
    Create separate folder (for example AOKP).
    I've already 'android' folder since that i compiled CM1O.1 therefore I make (AOKP folder is perhaps already created with a command above, therefore maybe no need to do 'mkdir AOKP'):
    Code:
    cd ~/android/
    mkdir AOKP
    cd AOKP
    in that folder.
    Type this to Initialize Repository & Sync:
    Code:
    repo init -u https://github.com/AOKP/platform_manifest.git -b jb-mr1
    repo sync
    Download these 3 files (local_manifest.xml, galaxysmtd.mk and folder aries-common) from here http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/malcho/AOKP%20Beast/ (thanks to Malcho)

    - Local_manifest.xml goes to .repo folder(you have to enable Show hidden files and folders with ctrl + H for example).
    - galaxysmtd.mk file goes to vendor/aokp/products
    - aries-common folder goes to vendor/aokp/overlay

    In folder vendor/aokp/products add this line below to AndroidProducts.mk file.

    Code:
    $(LOCAL_DIR)/galaxysmtd.mk
    In folder vendor/aokp add this line below to vendorsetup.sh file.

    Code:
    add_lunch_combo aokp_galaxysmtd-userdebug
    After, in /home/android/AOKP
    make
    Code:
    repo sync
    . build/envsetup.sh
    -Connect Phone to computer and type:
    Code:
    adb root
    cd ~/android/AOKP/device/samsung/galaxysmtd/
    ./extract-files.sh
    and:
    Code:
    ./setup-makefiles.sh
    Go to the folder and:
    Code:
    cd ~/android/AOKP/
    lunch
    choose galaxysmtd

    Always in /home/android/AOKP
    make
    Code:
    make bacon
    ROM will be in folder /out/target/product/galaxysmtd

    **********************************

    Building of BAKED (4.2.2):
    Code:
    cd ~/android
    mkdir BAKED
    cd BAKED
    repo init -u https://github.com/TeamBAKED/platform_manifest.git -b jb-4.2
    repo sync
    . build/envsetup.sh && lunch baked_galaxysmtd-userdebug && mka bacon

    ROM will be in folder /out/target/product/galaxysmtd
