Flash the Philz kernel for LT4 through your actual CWM, then reboot the CWM (not the phone) and perform full wipe, format /system /cache /preload

Now you're ready to flash v6 LT4.

About restoring apps, make sure you're not going to restore system apps, but only the ones you downloaded from Play Store.
You should have no issue restoring them.

Let me know if you get problems.

Thanks for the prompt reply, installation went fine and it's running smoothly :good:

What's PA 3.6 ? And why would you want to downgrade from 4.2.2 ?

ParanoidAndroid, well I am looking for a stable OS that I can flash and use my phone and expect it to work as it should.

Have used PA for over months and have even donated as they guys really worth it, but it has been a little wonky for me lately.

Thanks mod for your great effort.

I like this rom, but I noticed when using wifi for Internet my gnote battery will reach 38 Celsius. If wifi on in charging condition battery temperature will reach 50 degree.

My question, is this normal? Should I change the battery?

The before for answering my question.

And again for mod for your great rom

Is this what we call brick ?

After hundred ROM flashing, I try this one and my note only goes to the "SAMSUNG" static screen and nothing more.

Any suggestion will be welcome !

Got this on two separate occasions while leaving the phone overnight. Only mods installed is Speedmod from the UpdatemeOTA app.

Any idea why?? :/

For some reason when I try to lock my phone from the homescreen using the power button, it just keeps the screen on, the only way for the screen to go off, is to let it timeout (10seconds)

anyone know why this is ?

I can lock it easily from within an app and the screen stays off.

Flash the CRT Fix that you can download from UpdateMe.

Check to see if Stay Awake is enabled in settings (meaning when your eyes are looking at the screen), if its on , disable it,

You might need a new battery. I just replaced min with a MUGEN 2650 ma battery and get 60 hours with moderate use.

Cant be. My dad also shares the same batteries with me and his is completely fine. Though he's running a different JB ROM. I think I'll install Betterbatterystats to investigate it more if it persists.

I just noticed that the camera is taking grainy images, the quality is really bad.

I tried to clear the cache of Camera application and reset the settings, no luck :(

Hi guys,I have a few question.

My friend got a note and GB 2.3 was stock android when he bought it.I flashed via odin 4.1.2 ,I think it was a leaked version 3 months ago or something ,XXLSA or XXLSZ cant remember right now, dont have phone here.

Phone is rly laggy and battery is terrible ,about 1 day some normal usage(surfin, texting).,without games etc...

Now I would like to root it and put some custom rom.

If I get this right i shoud do this:

1. Download thath file from 1st post for non rooted phone, and flash it with odin and I will get kernel ,root access and cwm recovery.

2. Download rom v6 and flash via recovery.

3. Download all OTA updates directly in rom and flash it .

After thath everything shoud work fine ? please correct me If I am wrong somewhere,I dont want to mess something up :D

Tnx in advance

Seems right to me

About the battery, if the NOTE is over a year old the battery may be going bad. Happened to me and Joosh also.

I bought a MUGEN 2650ma battery and am getting almost 80 hours now , with moderate use.

Actually here is what I did. NO Odin involved.

I got Abyss 4.2 kernel. Flashed it. and rebooted back into CWM (very important).

Then I Flashed the V6 ROM here and everything works fine. The built in kernel on this ROM is Philz. Some people prefer SpeedMod but I don't (for reasons I won't get into).

My advice is stick with the kernel built into this ROM. I have NO PROBLEMS whatsover.

    How to Flash Video
    Thanks to hamdogg

    How to flash:

Nandroid Backup before flash is highly recommended!

    • Load *.zip on your SD/EXT Card
    • Restart in CWM
    • Be sure you’re on SAFE KERNEL, then you can wipe
    • Full wipe /data/factory reset /cache and dalvik
    • Format /data /system and /preload
    • Flash the ROM
    • Wait some minute until your phone boot!

For people who have Unrooted phone and ICS 4.0.4:

I can show an easy way to flash it.

    Just download GL_NOTECORE_HYDRACORE_v4-3b_STD.tar
    • Flash it with Odin 1.85, (Click PDA, choose hydracore and press Start)
    • After this you will have Root on your phone. Restart it and check if Hydracore Kernel is correctly installed.
    • Now you can go into CWM and flash the Rom.

(to go in recovery press Volume UP + Power Button + Home Button at same time until the phone is booted into CWM)

The kernel you're flashing before installing Rom doesn't matter since with v4 will be replaced by PhilZ 3.1 for XXLS7

    ...That's all!

      • or my blog page.

    • I suggest to all who want support with donations to do it trought XDA or blog page on signature and NOT on UpdateMe!

This is to avoid wrong donations.
Thanks for attention and all donators so far! :D

Okay, so after reading this entire thread since release of v5, I just wanted to post this:

What to do when experiencing bootloops

So, you flashed this ROM, had your fun and now you are stuck on the "Galaxy Note GT-N7000" screen, and nothing happens.
Did you follow the instructions found in the OP TO THE LETTER when you installed the ROM?
If NO: Wipe and reflash ROM according to instructions.
    If YES: Read on.
Here is what you can try:

    1. While stuck in bootloop, hold the POWER button for five to ten seconds. The device will reboot, and it might get out of bootloop. If it boots correctly, have fun. If not, try the next step.
    2. Start the device in CWM then go to advanced - reboot recovery. Wait for recovery to reboot, then select advanced - reboot system. If this doesn't get you past bootloop, try the next step.
    3. Pull out the battery for a few seconds. Put the battery back in and let the device boot. Try this a few times before trying the next step.
    4. Start the device in CWM, and wipe Cache and Dalvik. Try to boot the device. If this didn't work, go ahead and try the next step.
    5. Start the device in CWM and create a backup. Reboot recovery, then restore the backup. Nothing will be lost. After restore complete, reboot the device.

All of the above has been confirmed to work for some users in this thread. It might work for you, or it might not. At least you don't have to roam the thread searching for a solution if you found this post.

If none of the solutions did work for you after several tries, you might want to consider reflashing the ROM according to the instructions in the OP.

Some users are suggesting tinkering with partition sizes. I would strongly recommend not doing this, as this ROM is using the correct partition sizes according to Note requirements.

Also, just a friendly reminder for everyone trying this ROM:
This rom is an experimental leak. That means that it is provided without any warranty of any kind. Everyone flashing this ROM is doing so knowing that it might crash or worse.

If you experience problems, you can report them in this thread. If you need help, post your questions here, and you will get all the help you need (after you tried searching first, of course). If you have suggestions, post them! However, you do not have the right to complain about anything. Recommending another ROM in a developer thread is just impolite. Don't do it.

The developers needs our appreciation to continue sharing their work. They work in their spare time, for free. And everyone benefit from that.
The trolls whine and complains about everything. No one benefits from that.

This was just a friendly reminder :)

Joosh3: If you would be so kind to put a link to this post in OP, I will personally see to that this post is updated with every confirmed solution to the bootloops as soon as other solutions pops up in this thread.
