I have the feeling the backligh is not pushed up to the max ... anyway to fix this ?

try moving this hw_config.sh to ststem/etc (rw-r-r) ALS woks too. guess brightness is more than enough

make a backup of ur current hw_config.sh in case u didnt like mine

Edit : sorry guys, but this is way under what the Ray is capable of :/ You should check roms like Super Jelly Bean or PAC to see what i'm talking about.

what do u mean?? im using super jellybean. guess u mean u need more light? then move this hw_config.sh from super jelly ban to system/etc (rw-r-r) and u will get very bright backlight. but ALS will not work

Yes, try to put backlight at the maximum in Super Jelly Bean, you'll see a huge difference.

I don't care much about ALS, so thanks. But sorry being a complete noob, i don't know how to push files into the phone ... is it too much of an assle to make it a flashable zip ?

very easy my friend

1 download the fie
2 put it in ur SD card
3 go to file explore
4 copy the file whch u have placed in ur SD card
5 go to system/etc
6 copy and replace
7 long press the file then go to permissions then set permission as rw-r-r . as shown below
8 reboot
x x
x
x

well i dont know how to make flashable zips

Cant move the file anywhere but on my sd card in file manager, and i don't have access to any permission setting. This is getting way too much of an assle for something that should've been fixed ages ago. Gonna revert back to SJB.

Well the provided file manager obviously won't let me.

Otherwise Slim bean seems like a pretty good rom TBH, lots of options and mods, and completely smooth as a 4.1 rom should be.

download root explore from the market. or else go to the settings or the options of th one u have and giv root access. there should be a option to enable root access. then u can. or are u saying when u go to system/etc it dont let u copy the file? if that the case u have to give write and read access. just press the folder and u will see the options.

cos its slim well anyway i like the ROm. but radio cannot be make to work. so sadly have to leave........:crying:

u can change dpi in interface general 182 to 240 is default hdpi devices

What kernel are you using? Radio didn't use to work for me fxp207 with flykernel but it worked with lupus
