I had a very rare instance of screen freeze when rotating the screen. Only once every maybe 20 times. Also there is no IR remote control functionality. Otherwise it's rock solid

Hello!
I've been using the nightly ROMs since 5/25 on my Xperia ZL. I had some minor problems with the ones between then and June 15, but those were probably my fault. The June 15 build works great.

My question: Is there no USB mass storage support in this build? I can only find PTP and MTP. The "USB Storage" dialogue at the bottom of the Storage options is grayed out, and I can not get it to become active no matter if the SD card is mounted or not. My device is rooted and "USB debugging" is active. I've also tried it with debugging off, with no effect.

Is USB mass storage supported in this build? Is this a bug? Can I request USB mass storage as a "Wishlist" item?

Thank you!

i take it down as a wishlist item :)

it is totally in my hand as the device maintainer, and not dependent on general AOKP development,
right now it is not top of my priorities, and since we have had SD card corruption issues with UMS, we are trying to stick to only MTP/PTP

Ok, thanks! You know, last night I switched back to the stock ROM, but after having used AOKP for 2 weeks, I found the stock ROM so annoying I switched back to AOKP after a couple of hours! AOKP is great. I'll make a donation as soon as I can figure out how to use paypal here in China.

I *politely* and *respectfully* request that UMS not be retired. (perhaps as a "use at your own risk" functionality?) For me it's merely an annoyance, but I've finally figured out how to make MTP work in Linux, albeit in a quite buggy fashion. However, from my searching around on how to fix the problem, I've found for many others it's a serious impairment of functionality, as MTP is not widely supported in non-Microsoft data devices, and for yet other users it's game-over for Android. I see UMS in Android as an outright competitive advantage.

I'd also like to point out that I haven't been able make Volume+ app work with AOKP as I had with stock Sony, and equalizer adjustment in any player app lowers the overall volume. I haven't been able to find any work-around for this. Even though the volume's not *too* bad, I still want complete control over it!:D

Thank you, and thanks to your team for this terrific ROM. My friends and colleagues are astounded by this modded-out Xperia ZL. I look forward to following future developments.

I'd also like to inform you that I can not view your changelog page

http://kxp.championswimmer.tk/updates/changelog/

I tried with and without vpn. W/O vpn it doesn't load anything, with VPN I seem to get random spam webpages.

a new unofficial build has been uploaded
https://uploaded.net/folder/u65mac

please test and let me know if any bugs are present

I keep getting "AOSP Keyboard stopped" errors on a number of these builds. I'm not certain if I'm doing something wrong (factory reset? Wipe cache?) or if it's a bug in the ROM.

FYI my phone is a Chinese purchased L35H. The June 15 build shows up as C6503, but it works fine.

Right now I'm downloading a stock 10.3.A.0.423 firmware. I already tried the C6502, but the data connections didn't work. Now I'm going to try the C6503, because the AOKP mod worked.

Edit:
I got the June 30 build to work, (factory reset/wipe everything), but there's no dictionary for the keyboard, so gesture typing doesn't work, and it appears to unflash my CWM Recovery. I ccan't boot into CWM unless I reflash it, which breaks AOKP.

hi!

i've got a few questions before flashing AOKP on my zl:

how's the behavior of the camera quickstart button?
how is the picture quality compared to the stock sony cam-app?
can i make pics with 16:9 ratio?
is there a way to use sony's remote controll app using AOKP?
how is the external sd implementet? can i set the camera app to save pics and vids on the ext.sd?

i'm looking really forward to have all AOKP goodies on my zl, but i love the stock sony cam and ir remote...

yes to everything except IR support
Shane Francis is already developing an IR app, it should be available soon
but till then CyanogenMod/AOKP/PA etc etc ROMs do not have IR support. Not just ZL or Tablet Z but all devices.

Any review or though on this rom?

Sent from my C6506 using xda app-developers app
It's AOKP. Not much to say about it. Has everything working the way you'd expect it other than the brightness issue present on all CM roms. Other than that it's smooth and fast and works great as a daily. I don't use it currently because I'm too addicted to PIE controls which AOKP doesn't include.

Give LMT Launcher a try. I prefer it to PIE Controls. Basically the same. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150

hey, development for xperia zl has stopped?

Anyway, I've been using the room since milestone 2 has been released, do you guys think the battery is draining way too fast? I guess my phone eats up battery much faster than the stock rom.

Sometimes the camera stop producing images (just restart the app and it works!)

The first day I was running the rom, I also had a problem usign rdio and headphones. If tried to increase volume using the hardware buttons or software, it would not work and would force close the app, once I disabled the headphones safety thing on settings (can't remember its name) everything went back to normal.

Other than that, the rom is running rock solid.

Well, I don't know if its CM related or AOKP related so here it goes:

I've been experiencing a little issue using the stock camera app. Sometimes when I open it I see no image, and the app freezes shortly after. A quick restart of the app makes everything goes back to normal.

Does anyone have this issue as well?

Thanks.
