Bug?!

I'm frequently get black screen (I can make photo, but the screen is black) when I try to access Camera app. from Lockscreen or from Navigation Ring. Then, when I press Back button, I get "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped".
How can I solve this problem?
P.s. Using last stable version.

WARNING!! WARNING!!!

There is NOOO recovery baked into the KitKat 12/26 nightly!

WiFi also does NOT work with this rom.

Also, do NOT flash over a CM build without a wipe. You will softbrick.

And with no recovery baked in, you are left with the option to flashtool a FTF file.

Or have a boot.img file with recovery baked in ready to fastboot flash from your PC. (what i did).

You can use the boot.img from one of the CM nightly builds and have recovery, but it will not fix WiFi (like i was hoping, lol)

Just some warnings for you boys and girls.

Anyway.... Happy Flashing and Merry Christmas!!

Nope. But I am using the 1/1/14 CM nightlie, still no cherry picks. So I can only imagine aokp is still a little bare. Just having no recovery is a pain in the butt. I can't get adb setup on my work comp so I can't flash boot.IMG files. So I have to wait till I'm home to mess around. Some days seem soooo long when there is something new to try, lol

Ah... not good.

I'm trying to decide what to play with on my phone at this point... cm11 vs aokp vs omni

Not sure that 4.4 is stable enough for use as a daily driver. Which baseband do you run?

I've been using the CM nightlis for the last month or so.

They have all been rock solid.

As long as you dont enable ART (which i do anyway) you should have no issues.

Enabling ART doesnt seem to do any harm, but Cyanogen team says it can cause issues.

Still missing a lot of features, but at this point, for our device at least, CM has the most in it to play with.

Omni, AOKP an CM are all still very vanilla right now, but hopefully not for long.

mine's 3011082-51 (from 2.67) at this point.

Maybe I'll give CM a try. I pretty much need wifi, and bluetooth a2dp to be happy...

I never mess with basebands. I just flash n dash, lol. But BT and WiFi both work as they should for me. I think you will be fine. The ONLY pain with cm is every reboot you have to go into the phone information menu to change the network preference. It automatically switches to "WCDMA Preferred"

The newest nightlie seems to be working just fine.

WiFi is now working.

You still HAVE to wipe data if coming from a Cyanogen build.

I still dont know if there is a pre-baked recovery.

I flashed this at work and didnt want to risk anything since i dont have fastboot on my work comp.

I ended up flashing allspark2020's CM kernel with double tap to wake, and its working great!

This doesn't require a customer kernel or unlocked bootloader since sony has already released 4.2.2 right? As long as my xperia is rooted with a customer recovery installed all I should have to do is install the rom correct?

I have a Bell Canada C6506 which can't have its bootloader unlocked.
Thanks

NOOOOOOO!!!! INCORRECT!!!!!

If you want to flash any ROM other that stock, or a stock based ROM, it requires an UNLOCKED bootloader.

All AOSP based ROMS (CyanogenMod, AOKP, AVATAR, Omni, P.A.C, etc..) require you to have an unlocked bootloader.

Those ROMS require a custom kernel to work.

The kernels on Sony devices is baked into the boot.img.

The ONLY way to flash a custom boot.img is to have your bootloader UNLOCKED!!

Your device will not boot up if your flash this.

Hope this prevented a disaster! lol :good:
