READ THIS POST, IT'S VERY IMPORTANT

When I first got my Galaxy S III this is what I dreamed of eventually running on my phone — A ROM that has all the capabilities of ParanoidAndroid, all the features of AOKP, and one that utilizes CyanogenMod as a solid base. ParanoidKANGdroid is based off CyanogenMod source code with all the features from ParanoidAndroid and AOKP merged into the frameworks and settings. I really hope you all have a good experience with this ROM. I made my own kernel for ParanoidKANGdroid that has overclocking, undervolting, and quite a few performance tweaks. Also, under settings you will see a tab for "Update Center" which will launch goo manager which is where you can receive OTA updates for this ROM. Before I conclude I would like to thank everyone that helped make this ROM possible.

Also, here is a link to my Github which has the source for the ROM and my kernel:

Trouble.png

  • If you have an issue and you want to call my attention, here's what you do:
  • 1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
  • 2. Search this thread, Cyanogenmod's, ParanoidAndroid's, and AOKP's as well for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
  • 3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
  • ... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
  • ... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
  • ... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

Re: [ROM][4.2.2][AOKPA:CM10.1] ParanoidKANGdroid 2.21 (3/11)

thebz1,

Is your "ROM" compiled with Linaro GCC 4.7 and/or 4.8 like Paranoid Android? Or, are you using just the Google GCC 4.7?

Also, is your "kernel" compiled with Linaro GCC 4.7 like KT747 and most the other kernels? Or, is it compiled with Google GCC 4.7?

The ROM idea looks good so far. I will be paying attention to the progress. Thanks!

I use twrp, but when I made the instructions I didn't. You can use either recovery though.

Both the ROM and kernel are compiled with Google's GCC 4.7 toolchain.

Is there an aosp version of Samsung's smemo and snote apps?

so far the best one i have found is the MIUI note pad app... simple and looks like a note pad, but it doesn't seem to have the grid type paper/ lined notebook paper.

Does any one know how to remove or edit pie controls?
And does anyone know how to edit notification pull down tiles?

Does this rom have the same problems with changing out the recent and menu navbar softkeys where it force closes?

I'm confused. Your instructions say to install ROM and gapps and then wipe system. Am I reading that correctly?

I read that the same way but ignored it lol. I just did a fresh install the way I normal do.

This is a fantastic ROM BTW. Very smooth and snappy. Love the options and I haven't even really begun to tweak it yet. For the time being I don't think I have to. Well done OP.

I have had this rom installed since about Thursday and love it, I just have one small issue. When listening to Pandora and I go to unlock my phone, the track cuts in and out for about three seconds. It happens when I pretty much do anything on my phone. If I go to send a text the same thing happens. Is this a known issue?

Go to settings>sounds and uncheck touch sounds and screen lock sounds
