If you can't start the phone with the 3key combo to enter recovery od download mode, then your phone is probably ready for samsung service.I don't know what happen. My phone was having issues with sound on calling and a few system sounds in general. Restarted and removed battery a few times didn't help. I eventually went to clear cache just to see if it would help. Cleared cache just fine, dalvik failed to clear after multiple attempts.
I went ahead and decided okay, I'll just reboot it and go from there. I select reboot system from the recovery and it never woke back up. At this point in time I'm completely bricked with absolutely no response other than the IR sensor in the front blinks red when I try to power it on.
It's completely unresponsive to charger, usb, recovery buttons or anything now. It's literally bricked with the most coming from it being a slight IR blink. That's it.
Any ideas guys? It all happened randomly starting with no sound coming from my phone calls even on speaker.
Thank you so much for the response. If this is the case, is there anymore ways to confirm this or do you have any links with more info on this? Is the data salvageable? I've never heard of this SDS syndrome.. Lastly, I'm assuming(kind of noobish) that the ROM had nothing to do with this right? If you can't start the phone with the 3key combo to enter recovery od download mode, then your phone is probably ready for samsung service.
I beleive your phone has been afected by the SDS syndrome (your eMMC was one of the many with that error). Sorry about that ... hope that at service repair center will change your board for free - Warranty!
read about that here:Thank you so much for the response. If this is the case, is there anymore ways to confirm this or do you have any links with more info on this? Is the data salvageable? You are not able to go to download mode also ?Can't really find an answer for this, is my data still a possibility to get back/save?
Correct. But I can't even really tell if my situation is a SDS death issue. The SDS death thread is filled with a bunch of people on stock ROM with 4.1.2You are not able to go to download mode also ?
For data - anything that you have on your internal sd card will get wiped. External sd card you can just take out from phone and use another phone or pc to read it. Your contacts will be backed up on gmail and the apps you can again download from the Play Store.
I don't think you are going to ger any data from the phone if you can't get to download mode or recoveryCorrect. But I can't even really tell if my situation is a SDS death issue. The SDS death thread is filled with a bunch of people on stock ROM with 4.1.2
I'm just getting curious if it was the ROM that had anything to do with it so as not to run it again when I replace my Note II lol. Sucks that I've had to lose my data. But I asked because if the data was still able to be saved, I would claim warranty with samsun for repairs rather then send it off to my dealer whom I bought a warranty with who will just replace it.
Since you confirmed the data is gone, I'm going to use my warranty to get a new device. Any way to check 100% it's Sudden Death Syndrome versus a ROM issue?
Btw, I can't go into download mode or recovery of any sort. No response at all other than a red IR light blink.

Changelog for 4.30
So 4.30!!! What can you expect?! Have a little read and all should make sense.
+ Force Dual Pane option has been binned, why? Well with Per-App-Layout this is no longer required as it can be set here by selecting 720 as you layout option.
+ AutoHide Statusbar has also been binned, why? Well it was a little useless. Although you could get screen estate you couldn't access things like QuickSettings or your Notification Shade - it's useless so it's gone!
+ RC4 plus some CM extras have been merged, why? Well we are Cyanogenmod based that's why.
+ CM PIE has gone, why? Well it was rather poor with the last merge and quite painful to use. So it has been reverted.
+ Navbar Modifier has been moved to Settings/System, why? Well CM has it in this place and it was messy having another option in the main settings area so it was removed.
+ QuickSettings layout has been fixed, this was broken with the latest merge on the last build so it's been revert and now you should have a nice layout again.
+ PA PIE has been implemented, why? It's the best PIE implementation out there. That's why.
+ Full screen keyboard, on of off has been added under Settings/System.
+ The Hybrid icon in settings has been resized also, thanks to +Dave Morgalla

+ New kernel, built from scratch. This should stop all the random reboots.
