I'm still running this ROM haha. Does anyone know if it will get updated to 4.3?

Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app

Suddenly a eos-5-20180215-UNOFFICIAL-mako.zip made by @Niropa appeared.
I did not install yet, so far nothing is known.
Shhh ;)

I'll make a thread with a 5.1 and 6.0 build as I've looked all over the internet for a mirror of.the official ones and cant find any.

I was an official member of the team maintaining the ROM for the original moto g and recently got stuck with a nexus 4 so I figured might as well bring back the best ROM for it

The build you posted is unstable but this ones good so far

https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=890129502657583468

If things go smoothly I might even make some tweaks to them myself

got interested in this rom and went through this thread... Looks like this rom really fits my taste!
Flashing 0216 build now.... Will try out 6.0 build if you make any!
P.S. interested about the original 4.2.2 build... do you have it??

It truly is a great ROM and was made by a team who knew their stuff. Most of the devs moved to dirty unicorn.

I see no problem in making a thread with all 3 versions. Hopefully I'll have it up in the next few days :)

Currently trying out the 5.1.1 0216 build and wow.... I never thought I can actually go back to LP after all these MM, N and Oreo days... Really smooth(even though it's LP) and feels rock stable! And all the modern features like fling makes this rom very usable! Definitely feels great! Reminds me of Cataclysm....
Really looking forward to other builds! Thanks!

Glad to hear you like it :) I agree I actually initially installed nitrogen OS Oreo while I got my build environment setup and after flashing eos was blown away by the how smooth it was. (Im in no way nashing nitrogen, it was a great experience as well.) My memory of the ROM didn't fail me ;)

EDIT: actually I'm getting an odd but installing apps from the play store. Not sure if it's gapps related or rom. Let me know if you have any issues

EDIT2: a reboot seems to fix it.

Agreeing with you! really unique and exciting experience... with an LP:laugh:
Gonna make this my daily rom... Can you recommend opengapps for gapps flashing? I've heard that opengapps breaks some old roms, so I'm cautious.

Also, just asking, can I request a feature? I know that EOS team wanted a clean build with no extra nagging features, so I'm just asking... Sorry if it's bad.

Sure feature requests are welcome. And I'm using opengapps and had a bootloop installing Snapchat but a clean flash solved it.
You might have to play around with different gapps and see which one works for you

Opengapps nano seems to be working fine, thanks!

About the feature, can you add statusbar items hide/show, like in MM's systemUI tuner? I hate seeing useless SIM/Airplane mode/vibrate mode icons in the statusbar. If you can add it, it will be great! Although I suspect that for the feature, MM or higher android version is mandatory....

This'll be my last bump of this thread. Don't want to jack the op lol.

But I've been using this phone for about 1 1/2 months switching between every android version under the sun and in my PERSONAL experience it seems nougat ROMs have the performance to stability ratio meaning if I decide to start building anything it'll most likely be 7.1.2

That doesn't mean I am abandoning the eos idea though

Great to see a great developer working on a rom... I'll use your rom whenever you got to build it!
About the EOS idea, is it possible to use EOS sources and commits to build a Nougart rom? I'd be joyed to see a N rom thar is great as EOS LP.

That ROM would basically be dirty unicorns
When we were starting the nougat bringup for eos the team split due to various reasons and most the main developers (for example bigrushdog who made the fling nav nar) all merged into dirty unicorn

Tried out DU Nougart . Although I like the awesome features that DU Team made, the performance and overall feels are not that pleasant as the old EOS. Not saying that DU is mediocre, but it just feels like another N rom with original features. Maybe 'cuz it is unofficial...

Can you build an EOS MM if you can and want to? Might wanna settle with that, as I need statusbar icon disabling....

Also, can you tell me more about your rom? Interested...

I agree with you 100% don't worry about preferring eos over DU even though DU is great.

I will definitely look into compiling a marshmallow build but I can't give an ETA as of yet

Also by my own ROM I more so mean I'll be taking an already established ROM that may or may not have been released for our device and adding my own little tweaks here and there to improve performance or battery etc etc
