I've had some battery drain issues with GPS enabled all the time, it's not THAT bad, but it's noticeable. Try to turn it off until you need it.

Really silly question here, how do I turn it off, I can't seem to find an option in the notifications like ICS.

I had this problem also when going from 1.4 to 1.5. Gpsd was always running. Correct me if I'm wrong but gpsd is the demon for GPS. Turning of GPS did not help. Rebooting the phone did not help. Turning the Google location reporting off did not help.
Phone was also getting really hot. Specially when I plugged in the charger.

I finally did a full wipe and clean install for 1.5 and that solved the issue. I have the same apps installed and no problems anymore.
