holy crap did I have an adventure trying to switch stuff around. I definitely ran in to that issue people have mentioned about the boot logo needing to be erased to boot. can not figure out what in the world causes that and why it didn't pop up in the first place when I put together my build. any kernel switch made it screw up for me and needed to delete the bootanimation by adb before it would run fine. flashing the kernel I originally packaged it with resolved the issue with out removing the animation. any ideas?
considering making future releases of mine epic modem instead of ns4g for stability purposes btw.

Weird. Did you try wiping + reflashing clean? Do you know if you're on either the Nexus modem or Epic modem?

Yup and Yup.

Not 100% sure which modem i am on

I flashed back to cm just to be make sure i was doing things right and cm worked.

excuse the crappy camera

Also, How would i go about deleting the boot animation?

edit: i gave up on this rom and flashed pac man

Flashed work, but i get no service. Just my luck!

Hi guys,

What do you use for voicemail and mms? Both don't seem to be working on this rom. Any links to apks I should be using to fix it?

if you're flashing stock cm and it's working, you are not on the nexus modem. 100% sure.

Gotcha

Okay, what would be my next step to get this rom working? flashing the nexus modem? If so, would any work or is it a specific i'd need?

Forgot to add, it also seems like i don't have clockworkmod recovery anymore. Went from Cwm to team win recovery

It's ok if you are on Twrp. This is what I did to get to this rom with nexus modem. Reboot to twrp recovery wipe dalvic 3 times and wipe rom. Download all the files below and install them in the order below. Note if you don't get service the first time you boot go back to recovery wipe dalvick again and install the modem and then kernel again. Reboot and you should be smooth sailing.

Note: This is really just a rehash of the instructions TexasEpic4g already gave on post #6. Follow the steps there and you should be fine. I just have all the links below of what you need.

Swap2Nexus Modem http://goo.im/devs/effsi/Misc/Swap2NexusMdm.zip

Nexus modems I use KL2 but the most popular is LF2 http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1077168

Kernel http://goo.im/devs/effsi/JB/Kernel/N....2Nm-0308m.zip

Note: some issues at least I'm having with the rom. I haven't been on a CWM rom for a while so I'm missing some steps or something to do most likely.
1) MMS broken- I used handcent as a temp workaround. I think the actual fix is entering the correct APN info
2) Voicemail missing- Just need to find the right apk to use. http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=30962032
3) Market can't download some apps while on 4G. I think this might be an issue of either the nexusmodem or dpi. Still trying to figure it out. My workaround is use wifi or 3g for now. Im thinking more the modem as it seems 4G is disconnecting right before the download can finish.

Re: [ROM][4.2.2] Slim Bean-Epic 4G [Build v1.0]

Not sure if there's a bug thread but when sending multi-page SMS with stock messaging app it garbles on the other end. Is there a work around without d/l third party app? I didn't see the option to split messages in the stock settings.

All right so I just tried rooting this phone.
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2006687 I used the following method in the first post(not the second to just root) and i was able to load the prerooted deodexed stock rom. However I tried doing the same step but instead flashing this rom and the phone just hangs on the samsung screen? why?

Its not in their source because I didn't commit. I don't even think if I did they would add it. Things will be much better once I get another epic 4g.

well i would love to see larger support

could you clarify on that for me? maybe it's just late but what is the larger support you'd like to see?

if by support you mean grabbing you the link : http://bit.ly/12OCpGI

also with the texas given instructions about getting the modem going on this rom with my script, is there any reason not to just link to the detailed post I made about applying the swap? rather than having like 10 different sets of instructions at some point it could be nice to point everyone to one post, and give feedback on how to clarify the post to help others later on. the whole 10 sets of different instructions and different files didn't help the modem swapping in the past. but that's just my opinion. it would also be nice to get some thanks for the work. there's a healthy amount of downloads and a total of 4 thanks.

friendly reminder : all my stuff is hosted on goo.im and can be found through goomanager also (including changelogs as of recent times). all my roms come with goomanager (or should). there are no official threads for my stuff as it's for personal use only, the official roms are the ones with the dedicated threads. If you install my rom, leave goomanager on it and you will be notified of updates. no thread to follow or anything like that so it's fairly simple to stay up to date.

ps thank you unjustified this is better than I remember it being. nicely done and await future updates. xboxfanj is right about codefirex running pretty beastly also :)

Uses the kernel from bbelos 0318 build since when I compiled I some how included a kernel with twrp which didn't work right and made me have to odin. probably some small errors here and there since I rushed this out. Data seems fine, haven't tested mms or anything much yet

I tried to upload to goo.im but can't seem to login my ftp?

Edit : data died at some point, replaced with my edited apn file from my cm builds and it kicked back in. Hardware keyboard arrows are mixed up, some stock files were also removed. When I get home in 8 hours ill reupload one with the apn file baked in assuming I don't run in to any other glaring bugs while running this today at work.

I would suggest U include a kernel ..... then folks can switch if they want to .. ;)

Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium

I'm thinkin I'm going to include Didhiy's newest kernel.

Sorry must have described the issue wrong.
If I power down then reboot, it freezes on start up animation. I have to pull battery, go into TWRP and wipe cache and dalvik. Then reboot again. Boots up fine after that.

What screen does it freeze on, the bootanimation?
