[ROM][4.2.1] Slim Bean (Maguro) [Stable 1.0] [All Languages]

How to submit a bug.

First of all read the bugs section on our website. If you're bug isn't mentioned then proceed.

When you submit a bug you want to make sure that nothing from your side is causing it.
Otherwise your developer might be hunting a bug which doesn't really exist.
The best way to achieve this is by doing the following.

1. Make a nandroid backup.

2. Perform a full wipe (factory reset + wipe /system)

Now we have two different ways depending on what kind of problem do you're having.

3a. When you're having a problem with a ROM function flash now just the ROM without GAPPS etc. and boot back into the system. You will boot directly onto the homescreen.

3b. When you're having a problem with a 3rd party app in combination with our ROM then flash the ROM and GAPPS.
Boot now back into the system. You will boot to the setup wizard.
Log in to your Google account but make sure that you untick "Restore from my Google Account to this phone/tablet".
Finish the setup and open the playstore and download only the app you're having problems with.

4. Start a logcat recording and reproduce the bug (if possible more than once) while taking the logcat. If you don't know how to get a logcat read this tutorial or this .

5. Post the logcat in a txt file (this is important because you otherwise clog up the threads with your log) in the correct thread.
Please also write detailed how we can reproduce the bug.

6. Restore your backup from point 1 and wait for a fix (don't ask for ETAs).

SlimROMs are modular.
When you flash the build and the gapps you have just the basic set up.

So if you want Google Now for example you have to download the the Google Now zip.
Or if you want to have everything you can just flash the AIO package.

Yeah, couldn't care less about pie but I do like fast, stable, slim ROM! I trust any features you add will be low impact and stable. So, if you want to add pie with the ability to NOT activate it, that's great.

This ROM has enough custom features to be interesting without being buggy "experimental". That's a great reputation to have. I hate the "throw in everything + the kitchen sink" approach some ROM makers have. "Oh, that feature doesn't work? Well, we'll might fix it within the next half dozen releases next week... Meanwhile here's 4 more buggy features!" It's like they have ADD.

Slim Bean is a breath of fresh air, a nice balance.

    Thank you.

thanks a lot that is really motivating!!!

I think a good point to look a bit behind the scene and show why it is like that. In general we do not cherry-pick any feature without deep testing, doing code reviews, optimizing code etc etc. Sometimes, especially for us dev's it is really hard when you did some work....upload....and first reaction is....man thats bull**** :p But and that I can really say about everyone in our team....this is every time the start point that all start to optimize it best as possible. Not only the dev team also our dm's with ideas, our testers with ideas and bug reports etc etc.

Beside that, Pie is a good example for that, we always think about....how can people use it...does it makes sense. What about our hardware key devices. As you know PIE is for hw key devices useless till now (especially all the PIE integrated rom solutions which exists at the moment). So we started with...what needs PIE that it makes sense. First reaction....it need to have shortcuts like our navbar, navring or whatever shortcuts we have....then it went to....it should not only be for expanded desktop available....too....do most users really need the clock and status information or dimming background...can we do that optional for the ppl....etc etc....and so we develop from day to day till it fits our ideas. Even if it is sometimes 2000 lines and more code we must add.

of course we do not catch all bugs....but most of them + the optmizing we always do we have at the end usually stable features. I just did a screenshot from one feature you guys will see in next release....shows pretty clear what I mean. We started end of march

lol no idea if you guys are interested in....just wanted to give back how we are working

    cheers and thanks

    Hey guys,

The weekly builds for 7.8 have started.
We made some serious changes as a preparation for 4.3.
I insist that everybody reads the changelog otherwise you won't find a single feature (and you would miss my nice flow chart :) ).
    http://www.slimroms.net/index.php/changelog/362-weekly-7-9

    Now something tuna specific.
As you all know we wanted to update the kernel. diSke did all the tests for us to make this possible.
Thank you very much (give him a thanks from me I'm limited to 8).

However unfortunately or luckily, however you want to look at it, Google released 4.3.
We therefore shifted all the resources to make 4.3 available ASAP.
Beside that build 8 will come sooner and we don't want to sacrifice it's stability because it will be the last one before 4.3.
Due to this we won't change the kernel. Thanks to the tests from diSke we recommend however Fancy kernel for the best Slim experience.

So that's it for now have fun with the new build when it drops.
