5 Days of heavy use
Here are my thoughts on v2.1-
First and foremost is the battery life. It has decreased a bit, but not enough for me to leave the ROM. It's still acceptable, though no where near as good as v0.98 which IMHO showed the best battery life of any ROM for the Note 2. I see about 27-28 hours of heavy use, including BT, WIFI and DATA being used. More if I am off WIFI or DATA. Result-OK Not an upgrade but still acceptable battery life.
Launcher and preinstalled apps are great. Though direct pen input isnt available as others have noted, I do not consider that a deal breaker. My use of SPen is typically note taking so that isnt really an issue for me. The launcher is a big improvement over TW, which I never really liked at all on any Galaxy phone or tablet. I dont experience any lag or issues with widgets. Preinstalled apps such as Walkman (the best music player I have seen) and Motion Shot are worth the ROM alone. I also like the stock Xperia icon set as well. Result-GREAT!
Settings and Utilities is where the ROM shines. I love the fact that they are built into the settings and easily used. Result-GREAT IMPROVEMENT!
This ROM is insane in performance without giving up battery life or performance. I understand it isnt all things to everyone, but it is the most stable and most solid of ROMs. One issue I had with v0.98 was my Google account would drop and I would have to set it over and over again. Since I have been testing I havent had that issue anymore. Also I had FC with Motion Shot but used the APK and do not have that issue anymore.
Needs for this ROM- Email app needs to be put back on if possible. I know there are work arounds, but in general the ROM should have that as preinstalled app.
Better way to change DPI. v0,98 was easy. This ROM its a little more difficult.
Sound issue- Though I really have no problem with the sound, it seems something could be done within the ROM to fix this.
Anyway, there's alot more to this ROM than meets the eye and I am finding AH HAHs about it everyday. I dont post much here even though I have been a member since 2008 and WINMO. I have downloaded almost every ROM for the S2, S3, S4, and Note 2. This is one of the cleanest and most stable ROMs I have ever seen anywhere. It is by far and away my favorite ROM and I dont plan on going to another ROM until I see one as good as this. My opinion and I state that there are other great ROMs out there. This one for some reason just seems to do what I want it to do and performs like no other.
One thing I would like to add again-if you are taking the time to read this,
READ THE ENTIRE THREAD. Almost every questions that I have seen in the past week has been answered. As someone that reads every message I feel like punching my monitor when people ask the same questions over and over. Reading things will answer 95% or more of your questions. Thats not my opinion but a fact. I don't ask questions because I read the threads first. That's my two cents and that's about all it's worth.
