Nice Job!

Whoa - this is pretty cool. I remember Liquid Smooth from my previous phone (Note 2) and this is everything that Version was and then some. it's amazing how mature this Rom feels - very smooth - Lightning Fast - Benchmarks off the charts - awesome stuff.

THANKS for your efforts - really nice Job!

how do i access the phone from my computer
it doesn't see it in any way
also the browser don't work , it does a quick bright flash on the screen and back to the home screen
i flashed it several times to be sure it was not a bad flash
flashing goes without a error
everything else works flawless
just no storage access and no internet access because the browser don't work
just wondering if there is a special setting i overlooked because all the other roms i flashed before never needed a option for my computer to see my s4
I love the Rom , put it on my son's fascinate yesterday and today on my s4 , just cant move gapps over from my computer to the phone storage

I've been using this for a while now(about what weeks) on my s4 and love it. Liquidsmooth killed my flashing addiction when I was using my s3. it was the first rom that I kept for a month straight without changing

I'm pretty pumped about this one, if I say so myself. It took a lot of messing around, but finally I was able to get this built again for our device. :highfive:

For anyone who is curious, I dropped down the Linaro custom toolchain version to 4.7 (as apparently our devices aren't compatible with new versions of Linaro).

Although the changelog (since my previous unofficial build) is below, the biggest change with this build is that it is compatible with every single variant of the Galaxy S4 (AT&T, TMo, Sprint, Verizon, etc.). The way it does this is by executing a script during flash that identifies your bootloader and loki-patches the boot.img (kernel) if you are on one of the locked bootloader variants (AT&T or Verizon) and, for all others, leaves the kernel alone. It also adds any overlays for your device variant (APN's, etc.). Pretty freaking cool. :good:

So SGS4 users: come one, come all, and flash this Liquidy goodness without worrying about a status 7 error or the dreaded yellow unauthorized triangle. I tested this myself before posting, and it worked 100% perfectly.

To re-iterate, YES you read that correctly...it doesn't matter what variant of the S4 you have, you can flash the zip below without using a custom kernel or updater-script edits. :good:

For those of you requesting features, I do believe it is safe to say that this thing is 100% back to where it was prior to 4.4. Just from browsing the settings on my phone right now, features include:

    Animation Controls (from AOKP)
    Recents RAM Bar
    Alternate Default App Picker
    Custom Carrier Label
LCD Density Changer (no reboot needed)
    Listview Animations
Customizeable Lockscreen, including PA notification options, custom lock screen handles, slider torch, see-through options, and ActiveDisplay.
    Custom status bar options
Halo (now called "Bubble" in LiquidSmooth...haha)
    Custom notification drawer
    Pie!
    TRDS (dark-UI mode switcher)
    Hardware key rebinding
    Theme Chooser

Phew, my hands are tired from typing all of that. ;)

    BUGS (that I've noticed)
    - That frickin flickering spinner is still there.
    - For some reason it didn't automatically pick up my time zone from my network. It's an easy fix though, if it happens to you just go into "Date & Time" options in Settings and uncheck "Automatic time zone"...then choose your time zone below.

I guess that covers it...here is the build:

    Liquid-KitKat-v3.0-CPA-UNOFFICIAL-1-28-14-jflte.zip

GAPPS: Just flash the most recent version of your favorite GAPPs package...it doesn't matter which, as long as it's an updated version.

    Enjoy!

Part of the surprise is that certain individuals such as myself can finally take part in this. :D

    Indeed! Enjoy.

Hey man.. thanks for the help a while back.. I really appreciate it. I know you are busy so I will keep this brief... Were you able to get liquid to build? I was getting a kernel error yesterday, then I saw your message about a problem in the jf tree. Just curious.

Yep. :) Look at my github to see what I did to get it to build (https://github.com/Liquid-CPA), and holler at me if you have any questions.

Thanks Buddy! We were just so excited to have Liquid, we jumped out of our seats. Take your time! Just wanted to see if you were still with us, plus it's worth waiting for. Have fun with those taxes. My Buddy in Virginia does the same thing, and he is swamped.

Haha thanks, but actually I don't do tax at all - I'm in external audit, which means I work all year for that little page in public companies' annual financial statements that essentially says "we're pretty sure these financial statements are pretty much correct". What I tell everyone outside of the finance world is that "my job is to make sure Enron doesn't happen again". Lol

Back to the ROM, yall should be happy to know that I do believe we have found a fix for both the data (including MMS) and keyboard issues. Doing a clean build and will post once it's done.

Liquid v3.0 (KitKat) compiling right now...assummg I don't run into any significant build errors, I'll try to get it uploaded tonight. :)

Oh boy! I didn't have as many issues as others, but we may have jumped on too fast! @CPA Poke Did you desert us?

No i didn't, I promise!!! My name is "CPA" Poke because I'm a CPA at a public accounting firm, and unfortunately this is my busy season....like 100+ hours/week. I've actually just been made the official maintainer for Liquid (check the G+ page hehe) so I definitely will be sticking around. I believe we have a fix for both the data and the keyboard issues, so hold tight - syncing sources and will build again shortly.
