There were quite a few things that I liked about the m8. The speakers are excellent and on front (brilliant), the form factor was nice, and the 32 gb internal storage was nice. My first phone was defective and wouldn't connect to the network correctly, then the LED went out so I got a replacement. The speaker grill started peeling away on that one, replacement. I couldn't get s-off on that one which annoyed me. The notification LED didn't flash while charging, and only notified you for 5 mind and was very small. Dust and lint accumulated in the speaker grills within a couple days and I could never get them clean. I was mainly worried that I would continue to have problems and I never had issues with my s3.

Bah, wish someone experienced could update this to ND8. I'd love a simple, debloated, and fast version of the stock ROM. It seems everyone who releases a ROM puts their own spin on it and tricks it out with crazy themes. I'm more than happy with AOSP right now (SlimKat), but I miss the quality of the camera and keyboard on TW. Anyway, bumped this thread in case someone had the time / skills to do it.

This should pretty much give you that effect without changing you from stock- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2742937

No... You can flash it but it will bring you back to MK3.

My ROM: WICKED X
Okay, so just so I understand, I could flash this on my ND8 but it would bring me back to Mk3?
Would it have any adverse effects on my phone, or should it run pretty good? I just use my GS3 for a WiFi device pretty much, so I am looking for a really bare bones rom.

I was going to just go back to stock rooted and use your debloater tool but when I started reading about how to go back to stock it confused the hell outta me x-X

Since you're on ND8 already just flash CNexus' Stock ND8 ROM. Then use the debloater. Should give you pretty much the same effect as this ROM... Coincidentally I am uploading a Bare Bones version of Wicked X as we speak (there's also a stock theme for my ROM if you wanna go this route)

Adding my two cents to this. I started with stock ND8, did as bilgerryan suggested and debloated. Got me where I wanted, pretty close to barebones. Then I tried Wicked X. I have been very happy with that, even though I don't do much with the themes. Nice to have those options. But I basically run it as it installs. Have come to love the animations, but more I love the battery life and that it really is stock underneath. I'd recommend trying both (stock debloated and then Wicked X.) I am sure you'll be happy with one option or the other.

Thank you both for your help and input.
