Dear Friends,

Few noob doubts on how to install please:

1. I am on SlimBean 4.3 final build. No other changes have been made to phone.
2. I want to install SlimKat Build 4. Please tell me now I need to flash r4 or r5? Confused because of the below link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397000
3. The above link says r4 for 4.3 and r5 for 4.4, Currently I'm on 4.3 SlimBean so does that mean I need to flash r4 to move to SlimKat?
4. After I flash r4 or r5 as per your advice should I immediately do a full wipe? or the full wipe (wipe data/cache/format system) needs to be done before flashing r4 or r5 kernel?
5. please advice as I'm hoping to upgrade without a boot loop.
Flash r4, reboot recovery, full wipe, flash ROM and Gapps, reboot system :)

Thanks a lot Lakame_Man.

1. Can you please tell me whats is the use of r5? Do I need to flash r5 once I'm on SlimKat 4.4.
2. Does USB OTG work on SlimKat? Currently OTG is working for me on SlimBean.

1. Don't flash r5. It has the issue where you can't install apps on the SD card. Some apps are installed the SD card by default, so you won't be able to install those at all.
2. I think so. I'm not completely sure but I haven't seen a 4.4 ROM that doesn't have OTG.

Please tell me what is the way to go back to SlimBean 4.3 in case I want to revert back from SlimKat. Thank you.

Ok... so based on cgk's "workaround patch"... I have created a new build... :good:

I have upped it to dropbox... and have uploaded it to goo.im as well...

I would appreciate it peeps could try downloading and testing... hammer away at the sdcard and see if you can reproduce the sdcard bug...

I've had music playing off my sdcard via "Play Music" for a couple of hours without issue... and reports from the Omni thread seem to indicate it works for most things (some people having issue with dropsync, but I don't use that, so can't confirm)...

Have fun...
I've used your unofficial slimkat build for 2 days without any problem, but now since this morning I have some issue :
1. I can't turn off the screen both with power key or with app.
2. If battery under 40% and use data connection, it drain very quick (less than 1 hour without being used) and the phone become very hot
Can you help me please?

Hello!

does anybody knows if pit mod partition works with this rom?

does it need the 45mb preload version?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642299
yes, it works.

I have do this this morning without problem.
This is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642299 >> thank's to OP to give us this link.
This is the step that i do :
1. Copy, raw_kernel_r4_j43 , Slimkat Rom, and Gapps to ext sd
2. Boot to download mode and connect phone to PC
3. Run Odin
4. Tick Repartition, auto reboot, freset time
5. Click PIT button and select the pit file of your desired app partition size (i used "n7000 16gb variant - 6gb data - 45mb preload.pit")
6. Click PDA and select custom kernel in *tar format (i used PhilZ-cwm6-ZSLO2-OZS-5.00.5.tar.md5)
7. Flash and reboot to recovery
8. Flash raw_kernel_r4_j43 in recovery
9. Reboot recovery
10. format data, cache, internal sd
11. Flash Slimkat ROM (I used Slim-n7000-4.4.2.build.4.4-WEEKLY-3788) and Gapps 4.4.2 build 4
12. Reboot
13. Finish :D

hi everybody, I'm using slimkat from about 2 weeks, my phone is completely reborn (before I was on original stock)

everything is working flawlessly, battery life is almost doubled, fast... perfect rom

I have two questions:

1. is there a way to selectively remove a call from the call log history?
2. is there a way to close every app opened in the task manager (I can close them one by one swyping to the left)?

Some request, can you make a build that can increase more ram, because if i use 3d launcher like tsf shell 3d, next launcher 3d, it can run smooth but after run some application it laggy and sometime freeze and reboot itself, i hope it can be fixed. Many thank's again....:D

First off I'd like to thank all the people working hard on this ROM. Amazing job and the rom feels really smooth and the way it sips from the battery is astonishing. I've been using my phone the way I always do and usually I barely make it to bed with power still in the device (I run it in power saving mode) and now it survives well into the morning with still about 40% battery left. I truly don't understand why OEMs are unable to do this, this rom is fast, stable and really efficient.

The only thing however is that I noticed that my phone isn't automatically connecting to my car anymore. I can pair it, but after that it stops working. Does anyone have an idea why this could be?

Thanks in advance for the help! :)

Hi together,

I know the following problem was mentioned before, but i haven't found a solution yet.

System or gallery cannot find pictures on external SD card.

Is there a solution for it?

EDIT same for connection to PC. When connected to PC , I cannot see all of the folders.

Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me if this room is stable enough to be a daily driver? I tried the last version of JB, but got the SOD after 3 months of stable usage.

Any annoying bugs in this KK version?

Thanks in advance for al the information.

Hi everyone,

Does this ROM have an option to turn on "reboot to recovery" in the shutdown/reboot menu?
Can't seem to find it under developer options.

If the option isn't there, then how would I reboot into recovery with this ROM should I need to?
Thanks!

hi everybody

strange situation, everything was working flawlessly until few days ago (I'm on slimkat from 2 april)

I have a strange battery drain

one day I was in a call using bluetooth headset, at the end of the call my Note won't stop the conversation and the phone stopped to work at the point that I needed to remove battery and restart. When the phone rebooted I noticed that almost 15% of battery was gone

from that time I can see that battery lasted less than before (and other 3 problems occurred - when I was on the web, when I was on whatsapp and on the gallery - that blocked the phone, battery removed, -15% battery)

If I go in settings, battery, 59 % is Media. what does it mean? I used the phone only for some random whatsapp, web and calls 4h and battery drained at 18%

what can it be? how can I know what is causing this problem?

PS naturally I checked and no data was downloading, and the battery is running out very fast if I disable 3g and wifi too

EDIT: another thing, time for a full recharge is now almost doubled and the battery is original and 5 months old
