[ROM][4.4.2][01/04]SlimKat - N7000 [Build 4][WEEKLIES]

Everytime my phone screen light goes off after 30 sec of not using a phone, if i wake my device by pressing home KEY, instead of going to home screen it opens in recent apps (screenshot attached)
it happens only if light goes off and i press homekey immediately before phone gets locked.

After phone is locked, if i wake my device using home key, it behaves normally and wake to lock screen for unlocking the phone.

I have also faced this. I think this is a launcher issue. Which one are you using?

Try to replicate the issue using Google Experience Launcher or Nova. With these two I didn't face the problem.

I use Nova & Apex, and i face this problem on both.
i dont this this is launcher issue as i dont face these issue with same launcher on other ROM

Your Hardware buttons are mapped to default values. Go to Settings > Navigation > Hardware Buttons and change them. My settings are attached.

I attempted to replicate this (granted, I was using i9100)... and couldn't... waited till screen went off, pressed home, back to home screen... waited till screen went off, pressed home, back to home screen...

are you long pressing home? or just quickly tapping it?

I'm still trying to source a cheap 2nd hand n7000 so that I can test stuff on exactly the same hardware/setup... but silly people keep bidding too much on our local online auction site here in New Zealand

I flashed Slim-n7000-4.4.2.build.2.6.RC2-WEEKLY-2909 and it was really fast, but there is not close all aplications option when you long pres home button, you need to close one by one. Is that the same case with rc3? Tnx

You can easily find an answer to the omission of the 'clear all' button on SlimRom. But what Pi was wondering was whether the 'advanced' trigger options of SlimPIE are coming back? Or whether these settings have been moved?

- We use now a edge detection service (thanks a ton to Jens and Kyrylo). We tweaked it only
very minor due that it works allready out of the box. Two reasons why we want to use it.
1. We do not have detection overlays on the borders anymore. Means the user is not disturbed
by it and we do not need to add workarounds like we did before to avoid accidental swipe ups
(eg old IME reduce triggers). As well it is not needed anymore that the user can setup
thikness etc. The default values are allready quiet good. If a device has detection problems
the dm can adjust them via overlay. As said main main main advantage that no dead zones are present
anymore.

I am particularly interested in the sentence If a device has detection problems the dm can adjust them via overlay. I would like to change these values myself or if HCP agrees he can change it. But how do you adjust these values via overlay. A quick Google search resulted in changing code for things like Google Maps and adding overlays for Instagram: so that's not very useful. Thank you!

• The volumes buttons do seem to work for me with RC3
• The advanced reboot option can be set in developer options

But the last one remark really isn't something which belongs in the development thread...

One Little question. What base band are you using? I notice this ROM appears do no install any base band. I had installed BOLT1. Is this baseband the better for this ROM? +

Really dependent on your particular device, network and location... you'll need to experiment to find the best baseband...

PROTIP: If it ain't broke... don't "fix" it!

Also... don't mess with RIL... if you flash a modem/baseband... make sure the package doesn't include any RIL .so's included...

1) Can't change the volume with volume buttons while phone is locked.
2) Still no "advanced reboot" feature in the advanced menu.

1) You sure that's a bug?
2) Take a look in security. I'm pretty sure it's there. Besides, even if it weren't implemented it's still not a bug. The lack of a feature is not a bug.

What recovery are you using? And have you actually checked the sha1 sum of the downloaded file vs. the one listed here?

TIP: You can use sha1sum FILENAME on phone using terminal emulator/adb shell

Updated to SlimKat 4.4.2.build 3 OFFICIAL 3087 yesterday. Smooth and stable :good:

Help / FIX required
- Longpress back key does not function in many apps. In Total Commander, long pressing back key should exit app. NOT WORKING. In Opera, it should bring up menu with exit and other options. NOT WORKING. Please fix this issue immediately!! As there are many apps who assign 'longpress back key' to a specific function/menu. :crying:

On the official build3 the permanent keys backlight function doesn't work as it should ... Permanent option is working just like the default ... Anybody can confirm this? Followed the flashing steps as said and used the raw kernel to flash from.

Just flashed it after disabling the zip signature verification in TWRP, and it went fine.
