If i flashed this, per the ROMs instructions, is it a 4.3? Could that be why im having issues? I then ODIN'd root66.. so quite honestly, i have zero idea what firmware is loaded.

Reason i ask.. seems like instructions are different all over the place depending on what firmware is loaded. Since i can't etll, i have no idea how to proceed..

This is the MJ9 i flashed,..https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319198557

Obviously i can't do safestrap, because i dont have an OS.

And which stock firmware do i want? VRAMC3, VRALL4? I'm assuming i'm to avoid VRALJB

I'm assuming VRAMC3, but dont want to dig a deeper hole.

Also, directions for Casual say this..

I already have TWRP, so i have a custom recovery. So now what? Will casual even work??

Lastly, i already tried this one below (although not the PIT file, maybe thats why?) but it didnt work.. :(
Section 1b. Return to stock from any rom. Run that via odin. Once stock run casual. US based verizon note 2 should be VRAMC3 (double check though it's been a year since I ran it)

Then you will have root 4.3. After that you can run the updated firmware to get to 4.4.

Okay.. Just did it.. When it completed and rebooted, the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" shows, then goes black. Then nothing happens after that, just black screen until i do a battery pull.

You don't have a locked bootloader do you? You mentioned safestrap

It WAS unlocked before all; this mess, but thats my fear - that it got locked in this disaster.

Should i try to unlock via casual? Even though it says not to if i have a custom recovery? (TWRP in my case)

No. I would post in that forum. If you followed instructions under 1b and you still can't get stock to load work with them. You need to get to 4.3 stock before you run casual. It's all done via odin.

You're boot won't get locked unless you take an Ota update to 4.4 I believe. Your fine going to stock jellybean and then running casual.

Good luck.

Guys, do you think it has anything to do with recovery? Outside of the ROM not working originally, everything was fine until i started switching to Philz and messing around. Philz was the one that wouldn't flash the NAND backup. Now TWRP won't either. md5 error. which is weird.

Just trying to think through the issues. Wondering if i should try Philz again, although i doubt its whats causing the phone to boot loop (assuming thats what happening here)..

Any thoughts? I'm grasping at anything at this point, i must have this up and running by the morning or im going to be forced to buy a new phone.UGH

Upon further check, looks like its not MD5 check.. but rather at the start of the system restore phase.

It does boot just fine. Then goes to system, and fails instantly.

I've had this happen to me. If you are/were using TWRP, there SHOULD be an option to turn off MD5 check. Once that is done, you should be able to restore your nandroid. I panicked when it happened to me, but I was able to restore my nandroid. I don't think you can use Philz to restore a TWRP nandroid or TWRP to restore a Philz nandroid. Seems like I ran into problems where neither would recognize the other.

I went from official CM to this rom, CM11 is broken like crazy, it was just maddening to use. Thanks for the great work on this rom, EVERYTHING works just fine. I however could not get Xposed working for the life of me, wouldnt install. I had to install the agni kernel and everything worked fine, i guess it installs the sdcard fix for how its mounted. I installed xposed + wanam, xposed additions (for screen off hold home for torch) and GELS for the google launcher stuff. Works terrific and EVERYTHING works. No more crashing camera, GPS that wants to work only half the time, no mystery battery life issues. Its like a whole new device after being with cm11 for so long and suffering so much.

Have you tried using Odin to reinstall TWRP? I got stuck similarly once and that's what did it. Doesn't matter which one at this point. Once TWRP is reinstalled you can restore your backups

Got a note 3. now using my Note 2 w/ this very solid rom as an in-car GPS

This install was so very easy and flawless....

Installed the recommended CWM 1st and I love it.

Yeah, all the AOSP/AOKP/CM rooks suffer from numerous problems, like audio, in call behavior, SMS, camera, etc. Drove me nuts too.

This rom, however, is just lovely.

Now if I could just TURN QUICK SETTINGS OFF. Completely. Go away, screen space hog. Gah.

Is there any way I could add some GS5 & GN3 features on my own? I'm so curious about them it's driving me nuts. But currently available roms with these features have reputations for being unstable.
