Yes FM is a bit tricky, and slim guys haven't merged some required FM commits yet. I'll probably have to wait for them before I can fix it.Hi. I flashed it last night. Forma now its working very well, but 2 thing for mention: 3 reboot while installing apps and the volume in radio still isnt working. Even with the apo open. Right now im using an alternative app to listen radio, but theres one level of volume And it cant be changed. If you need logs, i can provide them but later when i get home.

Put this inside the priv-apps folder in the gapps and clean flash. I guess I deleted it from the zip by mistake when I was making it minimal. I'll upload the full zip with this later.Installed latest Slimkat 4.4.2 beta 2.4 and minimal gapps found on @TJKV-s devhost. After booting and setting up an account, the system doesn't restore apps and data backed up with this account. My last system, Slimbean 4.3, started downloading backed up apps and data right away after flashing and setting up. I had official Slim minimal gapps installed (~50mb) then, in contrast with the current gapps (~15mb). Is this caused by something lacking in gapps, Backup transport protocol or something? Can I do something about it now, to have the automatic restore from 4.3 system, or is it too late?
EDIT: Tried two times, but with official Slim gapps I don't get one-time-initialize procedure after the boot, nor can I add google account anyhow. TJKVs gapps don't have this problem, except won't restore.
This is exactly what I did, and still nothing happens. Rebooted twice, waited for 10 minutes. Backup transport .apk is copied ok, I can see it in /system/priv-app. Enabled "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore" in Settings->Backup&reset. Am I forgeting something? On 4.3 it just worked, as I can recall. Maybe the backup data has been deleted from google servers till now, because of all the hassle?Put this inside the priv-apps folder in the gapps and clean flash. Clean flash = wipe data and reflash rom+gapps. This is exactly what I did, and still nothing happens. Rebooted twice, waited for 10 minutes. P.S. Oh, and the "Slim-mb526-4.4.2.beta.2.4-UNOFFICIAL-20140120-1830.zip" on androidfilehost is corrupted, it's only ~136 MB![]()
Yes, in fact I did both TWRP system+data+cache wipe & defy safewipe to be extra sureClean flash = wipe data and reflash rom+gapps.
Thanks, will reupload that.
It's not a noob question. I'm just not sure if the real noob thing is that you didn't even bother to read the page previous to this one, where this is not hard to find, or if you are actually asking about how to enable overclocking.Excuse me for bothering, this may be a newbie question. How do I overclock in latest Slim? I have copied overclock_defy.ko to my /system/lib/modules folder, yet there is no Performance settings. Is there another way to set minClock = maxClock = 1000 MHz somehow?
Thank you for reply, but I'm referring to this section of OP #2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48165061&postcount=2), which says:It's not a noob question. But have no idea what to do next.Who want OC, copy from previous build /system/lib/modules/ovcerclock_defy.ko and set 644 permission
Ok, well my bad. In that case, I'd use Aero Kernel Control and see if you can overclock, or even try overclocking through the Bootmenu.Thank you for reply, but I'm referring to this section of OP #2... But have no idea what to do next.
Just recorded a 40 second long video at 720p with encoder set to MPEG4; it worked fine, although while trying to play it back through default gallery I got a "can't play this video" error, but only once. I tried again, and several times more and it played back fine. Aside from that everything else is fine too. Can't record video :" Unsopported video resolution for this encoder type" . I changed to 480p but still it crashes![]()
Fix force permanent menu button
I think that's to do with the nav bar, not hardware keys. Slim guys haven't added any of their additional features related to hardware keys yet, like rebinding etc.[/COLOR]@TJKV
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that, according to the SlimKat beta 2.4 weekly changelog...
...would disable the software menu button that is being forced for some phones (including the Defy), but for some reason I can't get rid of it.Code:Fix force permanent menu button
I don't see why it should be permanently there taking up space, considering we have hardware navigation buttons.
I already tried setting "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" in build.prop, so this has got to be set permanently somewhere else. Is there any simple way to disable this?
Also, I can't seem to find the "Chamber of secrets"... it does not appear under the slim shortcuts.
Lol, I found it!I think that's to do with the nav bar, not hardware keys. Slim guys haven't added any of their additional features related to hardware keys yet, like rebinding etc.
And chamber of secrets needs to be opened first. Hint: Look not as a user, go deep, check in the dark![]()
