I'm on this ROm since the very first release of it and I have never had any SODs, except when using zzmoove as mentioned before. Altough I must say, that I was completely aware, that the reason of my problems was governor, not anything else, because SlimSaber is just super-stable and I have never seen anything like this before :D Damn, it's solid as Wolverine's adamantium skeleton xDDDDDDDD

thanks for the feedback.
probably the term "sabermod toolchain" is new for n7000 community. afaik this term existed originally for nexus community.
actually i have already started building with sabermod toolchain since 3-4 months ago for both i9100 and n7000, but mainly for i9100 since imo there is more active users in i9100 community and simply it also needs process to reach this state of the build.
until last 2 weeks, i have courage to share this build with you all...:fingers-crossed::D
maybe users here should start to influence other rom users to at least try this rom even for a day or two
and like us who once tried... there's no turning back coz they will love the speed and stability of this rom

it is pretty stable in i9100 and i assume here as well :D

you can just hold the power button for 10 seconds and the rom should be rebooted.

like kroz mentioned, it is the slimkernel. i never had sod for months with stock kernel both on i9100 and n7000.
if you use custom kernel before, it is possible that the rest of that kernel still reside in the rom which could cause issues. some users have habits to flash kernel clean script to eliminate this possibility before flashing the rom.
which governor and i/o scheduler are you using?

edit: there was a problem with random freezes if you are using zzmoove governor for n7000, but i have already removed this governor for n7000.
I'm just using everything as standard as it was in the 27th nightly. Nothing changed. No kernels flashed. I did a factory reset/full wipe in TWRP and I'm pretty sure it would have cleaned anything left over. And flashing slimsaber should have wiped over the old ROM completely.

Do you think its worth flashing the r4 kernel from GeeckoDev?

I also suspected this but I have had previous ROMs work just fine. Its only when I used ROMs with these recent kernels that problems have appeared.

I confirm this ! In pass, I have some pb with residual old kernel (espacialy with custom test kernel), after format system and reflash kernel, it's OK.

So when changing ROM, format the system (usually in mount/format in recovery) or use a script like 'jbroid kernel cleanning'

i think it is possible if hardware is failing, then you could have strange behavior...

hmm...try to do a full wipe again with mount + format system from slimroms recovery and then just flash the rom and gapps minimal. observe it for 1-2 hours whether you get sod (cannot wake up from deep sleep) or not. if all ok, then start to install your app fresh from play store, don't restore it from TB. try the first 25% of your apps that you used the most. observe it for another 1-2 hours...if all good, then proceed to install another 25% apps and so on.

tried aosp after a long time
more than 6 months i guess
n i must say
m gonna have to find a better word than "impressed"
its fluid,fast,responsive,battery efficient
all the things a rom could possibly be
just one thing
i had a random reboot within a couple hours of flashing
n i cant make out the reason
coz i didn't do anything
no custom kernel
no apps restore
i haven't even downloaded anything from playstore
other that that
its a treat .........................
And I can't seem to find active display

I tried to flash the ROM again as per advice I never do anything for two hours it's stable:)
No force close
No turning off
Buttery smooth

Now I don't even want to change the interface to make it to 240 ...

What does this mean? There's nothing there when I unlock it.

i think there is still bugs in active display. i notice it when there is notification and as the device rotates, the icon is missing.

settings - security - lockscreen - active display.
try to delete the content of the /sdcard/Android folder and probably make a full wipe again.
i suspect there is residual files from previous rom.

Like to share how to install the ROM and make it less unstable:)
1. Wipe cache and dalvic cache
2. Install philz kernel
3. Do a dirty wipe
4. Go advance >>> boot to recovery
5. Install r3p2 kernel
6. Wipe everything again
7. Install the 27-11 built and gapps

This is the way I do and I haven't yet encounter problems... Fingers crossed

Don't install all your apps in one go as advised

This is the best ROM I used so far very happy camper now

There seems to be no Superuser.apk in this ROM. How does that work?
with magic...:D:D:D
for 4.3, you need to enable root manually.

No deep sleep
Gps always on even though I've disabled it in settings

some apps could hold the gps always on in the background, depends on settings though. check your app settings.
sometimes the battery report is just wrong.
otherwise, just reboot your device.

@fusionjack I appreciate for your great rom, I have been using it from the very first build and quite satisfied with smoothness and stability.
Is it possible using philz's touch recovery which is now compatible with cm-10.2 kernel and merge your patches to this recovery. I have no idea how to decompile and compile a kernel otherwise I would definitely do that.
I have problem using VPN, I don't know is it android 4.3 related or something that I cannot connect to some social pages like facebook, however I didn't have this issue on stock 4.1.2 roms. I have no problem connecting to FB at my office where server has no restriction only using VPN at home.
Again thanks for your efforts and keep it up :good:

For the GPS always on ... What I did was turn off the GPS as we all know :)

But what I do is go to settings>>>storage >>> cache (press clear cache)

And you have to turn on GPS if you desire ... Just sharing:)
