you can't. you need custom kernel that enable that.
That's why we need you to port Dorimanx kernel for us xDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Besides that, I have a question. There seems to be a bug since CM 10.1 with dislocated searchbox in dialer and contacts when setting DPI below 268. Is there any chance for you, to fix it? I would love to go down on it (it sounds kinky I think ]:->) and bring it to 240 without suffering that damn searchbox, which travels from bottom of the screen to it's top.
If there is a method for DIY, I'd do it without hesitation.

A reboot sometimes causes the ROM to lose some settings.

Last time I had to reboot (because the phone refused to connect to cellular data for some reason, the reboot did fix that), I lost my launcher setup, Chrome settings, Kii keyboard settings and Spotify settings (at least). Not a disaster, but certainly a nuisance.

Disabled SQLite fsync to increase I/O performance.
I guess that explains it. Seems a little risky.

SlimKat

SlimSaber 4.4.2

Flashing instructions
  • Flash a kitkat compatible CWM from here. Thanks to GeeckoDev.
  • Reboot to recovery. Not to the system!
  • Full wipe: data, cache, dalvik cache.
  • Mount system and format system partition manually.
  • Flash the unofficial build.
  • Flash gapps from here.
Changes
  • Synced with official release beta 1.9.
  • TRDS: Updates to some components and glowing border for dark images.
  • SlimCenter: Now you can check SlimSaber updates through SlimCenter. You'll be redirected to goo.im n7000 folder.
This is still experimental and I'm using UbuntuOne hosting to check the version. Not sure if this free account can give enough bandwidth to handle version checking.
  • Some updates in framework base.
  • See changelog for the rest of changes.
The changelog is incremental. If you want to know what has been changed since the first SlimKat, take a look into changelog folder on my goo.im.

Notes
  • SlimKat is still WIP (work in progress), so some 4.3.1 features are still missing and they will be added gradually.
  • ART is working in this build, but beware of the consequences that ART needs more time to optimize the apps and takes more RAM.
  • If you find the icon or font too small, you can change the dpi with build.prop editor for example with this app. Change the "ro.sf.lcd_density" with your desire dpi.
  • The ROM is compiled using SaberMod 4.8 toolchain and the SlimKernel is compiled using SaberMod 4.7 toolchain.
  • The SlimKernel contains latest mali r3p2 and latest video drivers s3cfb.
  • From now on, SlimKat is using TWRP, a much better recovery than CWM.

Install "SetCpu" and set maximum clock to 800 MHz. Don't forget to tick "set on boot" if you don't want to lose your changes.

Problem solved. ;)

it won't work since the kernel doesn't support it.

Thanks for getting this done, man.

A quick bug report: on the first call I got after flashing it (+ minimal 4.4.2 gapps) the screen went to sleep and wouldn't wake even after the call had ended. I haven't installed any apps yet except an email client (Kaiten).
