As far as I know there isn't, that is only griped I have with this awesome ROM. Just have to live with it or move to LS.

My gallery pics are shown 2-5 times so it says i have 24666 pics but in fact i have just ~2000...
ES Explorer is correct!

It happened to me a couple of times, in different roms but before Kitkat...
Usually rebooting helps,did you tried that?
Or you can format your external card,I think that can be the reason,there can be the leftovers from various roms or apps.

Have you tried clearing the Gallery cache? Clearing Dalvik & cache in recovery?

It must be sth. wrong with the gallery. (As well as download manager etc.)
Those bugs came with updates. Many updates brought new issues since build 5.4 or so... i will install such an old release soon.

I had that problem too, but it was in old releases, I selected all duplicated images then deleted them all using gallery app. It was a bit tedious but after 2-3 times, gallery worked as expected and now I am running slimkat 6.8 without issues

Try wiping data on the "Media Storage" and then reboot. Let it sit for a couple minutes while it rebuilds the media index and then all the duplicates should be gone..

Thank you. The media storage was causing this issue. Wiping its data fixed it! Maybe my wifi/bluetooth and other issues are caused due to some old data files, too .....

I have just found a first bug, my wifi doesn't work in PlayStore.

...and my wifi still does not auto-connect. I have to enter the wifi menu and then it seems to trigger the connection... lol

Btw. the gallery issue came again after flashing the 7.0 update. I just wiped media storage again. And camera still needs 30 seconds to load my gallery xD
Next issue: com.android.music (the stock music app) sometimes crashes. Very unstable app.

Ok, guys. Next build will com from me. I'm now ready with sources and JBX too. Today I will push an JBX update, next Slim Update when SLimRoms updates their sources.

Will your slimkat build include JBX from now?

Music runs fine but when changing settings i get a FC. It also crashed one time while using bluetooth audio. I cant wipe data after updates because swype would stop working after a data wipe. I think all those issues are caused by the missing data wipe.
The only way to get the 3.26 swype working on KITKAT is to install it on a 4.3 firmware and then flash a 4.4 rom without wiping its data. I dont know why this is the case. Maybe 4.4 is doing something wrong while installing swype...

€DIT:: i have an idea. I could change swype into a system app using titanium backup. If i wipe data, swype should not be deleted and still work after flashing an update. Could that be possible? Its time to get rid of those issues.

Unfortunately, turning swype into a system app will only move it into the /system partition, which is always wiped when installing a new ROM: FAIL. [emoji16]

Trying to preserve data on a JB to KK upgrade is a risky business, most people have a host of problems doing that; mostly stability issues like Force Closes, even reboots. That being said, I had to sideline the latest SlimRom because of endemic FC's, and I am waiting to try the first one dtrail1 turns out.

So resorting swype from titanium backup into a 4.4 ROM won't work? I basically quit using third party keyboards in favor of the stock android keyboard when they added swipe to type, it fills my needs; but that's a matter of taste.

Basically this should work:
- change working swype into system app
- reboot recovery and wipe data
- reboot system and change swype, which has survived data wipe, into user app again
- reboot recovery and wipe all caches, but NOT WIPE data again
- install rom
- reboot system and there should be a working swype keyboard, but the dictionary is wiped. Using Titanium should bring back the dictionary.

So far the idea, i will make a backup and try it.

Damn advertising is getting more and more annoying!

Forgive me for asking this question if it has already been answered. But..... Is there no way to apply a theme in build 7. Haven't tried slim in a long long time.
