Hardware keys don't work for me, I tried messing around with the settings but couldn't find any fix, unless I'm missing something. ROM looks promising, but someone please help me find a fix for this

one thing: when i shut down the phone, there comes a DU Image animation! Also on startup after installing gapps.

No it is not compatible with TWRP yet ...in today's build I'll fix that ! It will be available in 3-4 hours

Edit : could you post a recovery log or tell me the exact error its showing??

Make sure that you are on CWM ..the binary problem is not fixed in this build

OR

If you do not want to change recovery and have any ROM that flashes just fine on your TWRP replace that update-binary with AOGP one :

- Extract AOGP zip file --> goto META-INF/com/google/android --> Replace update binary with your Rom's binary !
