Have a break, have a KitKat! Since the HTC Wildfire S has a working KK and our devices are very similar, I have decided to bring it to the Salsa as well.​

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.


NOT WORKING/BROKEN

• ART (doesn't support ARMv6 as of yet)
• USB/WiFi tethering
• Front camera (the shared camera HAL in device/htc/msm7x27-common doesn't support it).

It's apparently not a daily driver. Camera can be fixed by grabbing camera.msm7x27.so from a ROM where it works (e.g. CM10.1?).
No idea on how to fix the other bugs, maybe Salsa devs can help.

That's not true. Use the GAPPs optimized for (armv6) phones which are low on space. Just search in HTC Wildfire S/Aria or even LG Optimus P500 forums.

it says mini gapps but its easy enough to slim it down yourself. if i get a chance i can have a look at slimming it down but it should help you out.
Need to find out if intext4 script works that's being used on other CM roms we have.

if logging into google via setup and it fails, skip it all and do it via settings then add account. tends to work then

I think setup wizard force close. login via settings or google play also cannot login google servers. in my case, i'm just install manual google service framework versi 4.3.xxx on Gapps folder priv-app. it's works 4 me. thx

No that ROM is for the Salsa (icong, not marvel).

Video playback works mostly. Bluetooth too. Live wallpaper work. GPS don't know.

WiFi driver seems to be missing.

D/WifiHW  (  502): Unable to unload driver module "bcm4329": No such file or directory

No Camera button (this could be fixed very simple )


But I never thought that Kitkat will run on our device. Many thanks to all who made it work on low-end devices like marvel and icong. :good:
