Not enough System partition space for GAPPS

Hi folks. I love the dedication and work people put into porting all these roms to older phones. I'm currently trying to get Google Play services onto a GT-I9003.
I was coming from the GT-I9003 stock rom. First I flashed
[CF-ROOT][UNIVERSAL][I9003] CF-Root and CWM5 for I9003 Gingerbread (All versions)
with Odin 3.09.
Then I used the CWM to flash cm-11-20160705-UNOFFICIAL-galaxysl.zip, posted in OPs link.
Everything went smooth and it booted up fine including first time setup.
However no matter what, I can't get google play services installed because the script says there's not enough space on the system partition.
Since the link in the OPs first opening post is not available anymore (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942)
I tried the following two PICO versions:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934553397 from [GAPPS][10-04-2015][4.4.4] PA-GOOGLE APPS Plus (All ROM's) by hellowasif
then
open_gapps-arm-4.4-pico-20180208.zip
I did wipe everything including caches, dalvik and factory reset inbetween every step, but both fail with the same error message. I uploaded the generated logfiles of both packages to my google drive account if anyone wants to have a look.

[removed]

Are there any different GAPPS packages, we are supposed to use with this particular ROM/hardware combination?

Thank you in advance

~edit: This device is no longer in my possession

Hi everyone!

I found my old SL over here and I've felt like compiling LineageOS for microG 11 for this device. If anybody wants to give it a try, you're free!

Download link here (I may upload more builds there, but I don't know yet if I will.)

As you can see here, some developers are still backporting Android security patches to LineageOS 11 and the build partially includes the most recent patch (source.)

Don't install GApps for this ROM, if you don't know what LineageOS for microG is, look over here.

Why don't you open your own thread with all the changelog you have done

I will do so as soon as I can, but I have done little, just compile it. Changelog can be viewed in the links I posted, as I just used @dhiru1602's sources to build previous CyanogenMod ROMs.

The only difference is that signature spoofing patch has been applied and I've included some apps to set up a microG environment.

Anyway, I'll try to tell more about this in a new thread.

It's an unofficial LineageOS for microG ROM so everything for a microG environment is included in these builds. Oh, I forgot to make a new thread for my build, I have to do that soon…

By the way, 10-10-2018 build is safer than the previous one, as signature spoofing is enabled only for system apps.

Hello

I want to ask some questions:
1: Does this ROM work every carrier around the world? (I need to use a Turkish carrier on a Turkish device)
2:How do I get a custom recovery? I want to backup my stock recovery. When I search for a recovery, there's two. There's this CF-Root (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19442301&postcount=1) that comes with CWM Recovery (and preserves stock recovery). I can't use it because it's for Gingerbread and my device runs Froyo (couldn't update it) and it's already rooted (with SuperOneClick). There is also this port of CWM (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151704/). I could use it but I don't know my what my firmware is. How do I learn my firmware?
3:You said that the most effective way to go back to any other ROM was to repartition from Odin. How do I do that?
4:The Pa Google Apps thread that you linked no longer works. (Couldn't even get it using web.archive.org) I downloaded open_gapps-arm-4.4-nano-20200804.zip from opengapps.org. Will that (or another OpenGApps package) work? If they don't, can you give me a working link to a nano package that works?

Also, the tutorial on installing it from a AOSP ROM skips from 1 to 3.

Thanks for making this ROM!
