Maybe this part of the post explains why this ROM doesn't have this wake lock issue:I did a quick search through Bettery Battery Stats and was unable to find the wakelock. So either the ROM is patched or else there is another reason why we aren't vulnerable.
Yea but the article goes on to say that this is not possible on lollipop...confused???Maybe this part of the post explains why this ROM doesn't have this wake lock issue:
"Google Play Services contains an OTA update checker, called SystemUpdateService, whose job is to look for and respond to over-the-air requests. On custom ROMs, updates come through the ROM maker, not Google or the carrier, so this service does nothing but get in the way. "
Since this is a custom ROM where the system updates are pushed by the devs, I'm guessing they disabled SystemUpdateService from causing that wake lock.
If you have Stweaks, with this rom (it varies depending on which kernel you have) you can try to change the GPS settings through there.
See my post #19219 above. Did you search for 'gps' before posting? Did gps work fine before this ROM? Are you trying for a lock under trees? etc etc
Thanks for the help but no dice unfortunately. Did as was suggested no change. I think I need a modem for Telstra (Australia) but I am not sure what is the latest version for it let alone where to download it from. Had a look couldn't find anything
Go lookeee here ... http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9505/ ... for what the latest modem is for your variant - I used GT-I9505.
Looks to be a modem version from 4.3. I9505XXUEND1
Searched for just the modem can't find it... Do I need to download the entire firmware and extract the modem?
Biggest position draining my battery is cell standby. I wonder why?
Anyone with the same problem?
Modem is OB7
What modem are you using?

Search this thread ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025 .... but be aware that some modems aren't listed in the first few posts, they're part way thorugh the thread. Oh, and you'll need Odin. If you don't know whast that is then a search will find it and how to use it ...
Mate is not actually draining the battery, it just display as is it's draining. Read the op, its explained there.
