It went away for me. Rebooting probably fixed it.
Okay so it's not actually gone.

Incoming calls work great, people hear me fine.

Outgoing calls are the problem. I have to talk into the top microphone in order for anyone to hear me.

I've attached a logcat of me attempting an outgoing call. Seems like searching for "yamaha" should turn up the necessary information.

I ran Omni for the second half of yesterday and placed several calls without any issue whatsoever. I placed three calls and received two calls over that period, and the person on the other end could hear me clearly every-time. I was operating on a fresh-installation, without any gapps installed. Until this issue is easily and reliably repeatable, it's going to be very tough to discern whether it's a firmware issue, or a user-setup issue.

I could also compare a known-good call-log with yours... (thinking out loud)

It would be very helpful for ANY other Omni users to chime in and let us know if you are experiencing any of this behavior.

I've attached a logcat of an incoming call here, maybe we can spot the difference in audio/microphone routing.

I ran into a similar problem twice recently. Incoming calls were fine. However, outgoing calls would complete but there was no voice audio in either direction. If I use the keypad, the called party will hear the tones. Rebooting took care of the problem in both of these cases.

I see that Omni for our S2 is still getting nightly builds. However, there hasn't been any changes in weeks. Or maybe I'm not reading the change log correctly. Which means that the current build (8/29) is the same as the 7/25 build? And, there's no point in updating?. :)

I updated to the most recent nightly and it seems to be fine now, but I'll keep an eye on it.

That is the "official" changelog for all devices - not everything will apply to the S2 though.

pa micro gapps starting to not fit /system after awhile (with art enabled). I had to clear the cache to do a playstore app update. switching over to banks minimal asap, but it seems google is blowing up their app sizes so it might be a lost cause in the future without repartitioning.

Yeah, that's why I have mine already partitioned..... Working awesome and always flash slim rom full gapps (about 250mb in size) and yet have over 450mb as system free size.

Other than those noted in the OP?
Bluetooth voice search/dialing does not work on this (or any other) 4.4 i777 firmware.
I'm thinking this may be kernel related. I'm gonna look into it before my last shift update. Added about 80-90 commits to this point. I see a lot of Bluetooth action in kernels so maybe I'll stumble across something in the next few days. Commits are literally all behind the scenes anyway

Sent from my SGH-I317 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I flashed this today from complete stock and I was surprised how well it runs given the age of this phone. I use it while abroad so I'm not slamming SIM cards right and left in my phone I use in the states. I'm also surprised that the version I used was dated today. I can't believe that this Rom is still in development. Awesome!

Is this rom/thread still alive? I have been using it since last year. Today I went into "Developer options" simulate secondary screen 1080p and my phone is soft bricked at the startup animation (I haven't done a nandroid backup since ... long ace time ago). Should I just give up and move to the newest rom? IDK what kind of data I had on the phone... sigh... Lots of recent contacts I haven't synced though. =/ Could I use ADB on the PC to connect to the phone and unbrick it?

I got a jig (old usb jig to reset that Triangle/counter) But idk if that works on kitkat.

EDIT:
Prayed about it. Fixed itself. Thank God :)

I was trying to reboot into TWRP holding PWR/Vol- and it booted itself into safe mode. I turned off Simulate secondary display, and all is good. YAY.

Can I go back to Jellybean from kitkat and keep TWRP? There was a unicorn rom, (fast, multitude of features/options graphically) and kitkat was more of a downgrade LOL.
