It gives me an error for all recoveries. Can you make a TWRP backup of hummingbird factory re-set LineageOS 11, and send me it? CM official givers errors and LineageOS 11.
Hi, I'm sorry, but I currently do not have the time to install LineageOS 11. As I said I'm currently running CM 11-20160815-NIGHTLY-hummingbird and it's got a lot of data on there so I would have to take a full backup of that - then clean install LOS 11 - that is time I currently do not have - sorry.
The recovery installed is TWRP 3.0.1-0 and I used the process described in the CM11 thread.

Could you backup CM 11? Only CM 10 installs for me. I find that strange.

Can you test the latest build?

Ok, so far it's running great. I haven't gotten to really dig deep into it like I planned due to a busy day, but I did learn that YouTube still runs like trash. I honestly think it's the app, not the ROM, since it has been this way across several ROMs, and more than a couple devices. I found a little bit of screen flicker when plugged in and in landscape view. This cleared up immediately by disabling ambient display (which I don't think is even usable on the nooks anyway). Other than this, I have nothing to report, all is working as desired!
If you can test this out, could you please give me feedback? Thanks.

Downloading now, I'll tinker on it for a few hours, and see how things go. Any tweaks or changes to look for, or just security patched, and need a guinea pig for general functionality? I'm mostly just curious, I'll see what's there to see when I install it.

Ok, so far, I've had 1 random reboot (could have been anything, I can't reproduce it, but if I'm reporting things, I report EVERYTHING, just for completeness), I can't get root, I've tried on Titanium, and the native file explorer with no success. I can't find root options in the settings either. Other than these so far, it all seems stable. Only other things I could mention are more personal preference, and just plain nitpicky (F2FS, and the splash screen at boot being oriented for landscape). So far everything else seems pretty spot-on. No flickering, no force closing unless it's requesting root, it picks up on my 128G SD card, installs flawlessly, and no setup issues with GApps. It runs smooth, no jitters, no real lag, and is overall pleasantly responsive. I haven't tried any intensive apps yet, but I would credit any hang-ups in that area on hardware limitations more than software. You, sir, have overall a rather nice setup. All this, and I didn't have to disable all the extra bits that I don't use like calendar and contacts and other background apps that for me are just a waste on my nook! If I had the root issue solved, and could disable them, it would be even better!

4.) updated the webview and framework stuff
5.) changed the userdebug interface to, user interface, due to security reasons with the userdebug interface and because of the browser

I will look into adding root and digging deeper. I haven't changed anything since last night, so I can pick up from when I left off. I'll give lightning browser a shot too. I noticed it, but defaulted at installing chrome out of habit.

Ok, I did indeed get root working with no problems. The ROM worked great except that when it's plugged in to charge the screen would flicker frequently. It seems to have cleared up when I unplugged it. Another thing I noted was that it got unusually hot under normal use (was just browsing the web trying out lightning browser). Most of my testing was with it plugged in, as it simply needed a charge, but the longer it was in use plugged in the hotter it got, the more it flickered, and then it started to get unstable, and force reboot. When I say hot, I mean HOT, I would compare it's temperature to the coffee I had this morning! (I did not check it while unused and plugged in, and I used it less with it unplugged because the battery was low but it did cool down a bit) Up until it started getting hot, it ran fine, but I've never seen it get that hot before, and I've run it under some heavy loads. I think it's ROM based because after reflashing back to another ROM, the temperature normalizes, and it gets to it's usual warm temperature. Also, the device I used has only been in service for 6 months, it was fresh out of a sealed package, as my original Ovation has a faulty power button that causes it to turn on and off at random (it's used for parts now). I tried flashing with TWRP 3.0.1-0 and TWRP 3.1.1-0 with the same results, both a clean install with all partitions set to ext4, and the latest Pico GApps from OpenGApps. If the temperature was managed somehow, I think it would be a solid ROM though. It was very stable until it got hot.

The ovation used to give issues with that because it's basically an overtaxed hummingbird with it's larger screen. The amaces builds had issues like that in the early days. He had to pull some tricks to get things to play nice. Not sure what he did, I'm a hardware guy, software just isn't my thing. I never had any heat issues at all with my hummingbird before I have it to my daughter. Even now it runs like a champ!

I had hummingbird for the last 6 years. In a few days, I get ovation. So, it is going to be to me. How many Android devices I had gotten in the past or future, it wouldn't be good as hummingbird. My first hummingbird broke I think on, May 9, 2016. So, 8 days after my birthday. On April 31, 2016, I used CyanogenMod for my very first time, and even root access. I installed it on that broken Nook before I had to say bye to it. About 2 or 3 months later, I couldn't take the sadness much longer, so I finally talked my dad into buying me another one. I had a Motorola Droid X (bricked that within a day, to slow, kept freezing and crashing, and it couldn't open the stock google play store), I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0" (Inch) wifi, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" (Inch) wifi, and the Nook Tablet (8 GB model).

I started out on my wife's Samsung Galaxy S1. The only thing I have ever perma-bricked was a Fire HD7 and I replaced the main board and had it working again in no time. My Hummingbird had a worn out battery, and cracked case ( the kids got abusive of it ), and I salvaged a broken hummingbird to get it in top shape again. I have a heavily modded Ovation with a bad power button (old and worn out), a slightly modded ovation that I am using now, a 2012 Nexus 7 WiFi (Grouper), and my wife's unmodded ovation. I got the ovations for $50 each, so I bought like 4 of them way back. One's my brother's now. My current phone's a VZW Pixel 2 XL, so I can't mod it. Even my car is heavily modified!

Don't brick your car when you are driving! LOL.
My Galaxy Tab 2 has LineageOS 13 official flashed on it. My Galaxy Tab 4, has my CM 11 based ROM on it, and Nook HD has CM 13. Does ovation have the upside down boot animation for Android 7.1.2? I might use 7.1.2 if I get answer about that.

Just dropped a new engine in the car, the old one bricked. The ovation does not have the upside down animation. I don't remember why it does that, but it's is discussed in that thread, and explained if I remember correctly.

Good. I will use 7.1.2. What thread shows the explaination of this issue for hummingbird? How did the engine brick?

It's in the amaces thread, if just search it. The engine was **** when we got the car, but they his is extremely well. It later overheated, blew the head gasket and leaked coolant into the oil as a result. Also, it cracked the crank shaft and Brooke the crank pulley. I've since rebuilt a better engine and installed it.
